Yeah they pulled their blog post. Oh well. Back to flashing roms

Honest question for anyone who's smart enough to flash ROMs... why would you ever take the AT&T OTA over what you have from the ROM community? I understand for those who don't want to ROM for whatever reason, but for those who do... AT&T's 4.1 is already going to be behind what we have now, most likely, and certainly won't have the enhancements....

I'm mostly interested in the fact it gives our community another base to develop off of, as well as the possibility of a new radio. Never hurts to have options!

Yeah I know lol. Hope I didn't sound like I needed it. I'm running clean rom just fine. It's similar to what they did to the captivate's official gingerbread update -- it took forever and it wasn't that much of an update compared to what the devs already accomplished with cm7

Sort of a double post, but I see a couple guys here flashed the OTA...

If you have adb all set up and could run this command:
    Code:
    C:\adb>adb shell dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/radio.img

then zip up and shoot that file over to me , we can get some flashable radios :good:

New radio zips are up in the radio thread! come and get 'em!

Can someone who took the OTA confirm that S-off survived? I know someone already asked but I didn't see a response. Thanks!

Yes S-OFF and Bootloader Unlock is still in place after JB OTA.
I wanted a clean install and also could not flash the OTA with TWRP installed, so here is how I did it:

    - Re-locked Bootloader
    - Applied 2.20 RUU
    - Unlocked Bootloader (did it here in case the new hboot would not accept unlocktoken)
    - Started Phone (disabled Fast Boot option);
    - "Check for software update" (Had to do this a couple of times alternating with doing a "factory reset" because the server would not find an update)
    - Downloaded and applied OTA
    - Reboot into Bootloader and confirmed S-OFF+Unlock in place
    - Flashed TWRP via fastboot
    - Flashed Super SU via TWRP
    - Reboot and have working JB on phone.

    Before: Stock 2.20 RUU with Root , S-OFF , HBOOT: 1.14 and Radio: 0.19as.32.09.11_2

After OTA: 3.18.502.6 OTA with Root, S-OFF, HBOOT: 2.14 Radio: 0.24p.32.09.06_10.130.32.34

As confirmed in my previous post: HBOOT and Radio were upgraded.
