I can confirm after a bit of testing that the Dolby Atmos plugin for Magisk is probably the best sounding for now (on "Open" mode and "Surround Virtualizer" on). So far I've also tried the latest Ainur Sauron, ViPER today and also LineageOS 3 weeks ago. Currently I'm running the Xiaomi.eu ROM, mostly for camera quality.

Yea you just need a different ROM than stock MIUI. Installed HalogenOS and wow, sound quality is comparable to my brothers Exynos Galaxy S7, and that thing sounds damn good. Stock audio is so distorted, especially in the low ends.
So, can u confirm that the sound quality in earphones from the mi 5s gets fixed just for changing the ROM? it gets goods just as the Mi5?

Well only certain ROMs seem to have it. Halogen does but hasn't been updated in a while. ViperOS also does and that one seems to be in development.
Aside from sound quality, which has the best battery and performance between the ViperOS and Halogen? I'm planning to change rom coz AEX's audio fx always stopped.

For the best sound experience I would also recommend to install the dolby atmos classic Magisk module

Install ViperOS or any of the more recent AOSP based ROMs and you'll get much better audio. Stock MIUI and any MIUI based ROM sucks a** when it comes to audio quality no matter what mods you add. Also adding stuff like Dolby Atmos, Dolby surround, Arise mod, viper4android, etc. Degrades audio quality no matter which way you look at it. They are pretty much filters and don't actually make the sound quality any better, in fact make it a bit worse. The only Sound Mod that's worthy of anything is the Ainur audio Sauron mod.
