I couldn't see an Australian thread in here yet, so here it is.

I've preordered the S8+ from Telstra and ordered two Spigen cases from ebay.

Now the wait!

Good stuff! I bought mine outright from Samsung, otterbox defender case on its way from the states.

Im waiting/hoping to see if bootloader is unlocked on arrival, we will see

I was considering the otterbox, but looking at the sons S7e with the OB it's just so bulky, I prefer something a little slimmer. Since you ordered direct from Samsung are they shipping the Gear VR with the phone? Not sure what your chances are on the bootloader, it will be interesting to see. Be sure to let us know.

Virgin huh, how much bloatware do you anticipate? I used to buy all my phones outright so never had to deal with carrier crapware. Although when I went with Telstra I was pleasantly surprised, only one app! Trusty old Note 3 (good phone), I had mine until the S6e+, which will be retired as soon as the S8 ships..

I beleive so, the gear was included in the checkout.

I like the defender, i drop phones all the time, cant be helped with me, need that faceplate.

Sweet!, hopefully they ship them together for you. When I ordered from Telstra they gave the impression it will ship with the phone, but if you read the t&c's it clearly states via redemption .

Good to see an Aussie S8+ thread. Ordered S8+ from Vodafone on the 31st. Looking forward to a bigger screen again (have S7 Edge Duos) after only having Notes until I had to hand my N7 back. This should suffice. Keen to try out dex should help with my work

Ordered a black S8+ from Vodafone on 31/3 morning straight away. Just received the Spigen case and also preordered a Ringke case and Tagg tempered glass screen protector. Now looking forward to picking up the phone and waiting for bootloader to get unlocked

Which Spigen did you go for? I ordered the Ultra Hybrid Hard Clear to tide me over until my preorder of the Wallet S arrives.

Thanks for the kind words. Not sure about a custom rom but who knows. I wasn't going to do one for my S7 but ended up running my own build. Didn't release it though as I just don't have time to maintain and support a thread. It was seriously affecting my real work and family life.

Been running stock rom for a month or so now though as I wanted to try Android Pay and some other things that are now limited with root (or tripped knox). Not sure yet if I'll even root my S8 but I haven't a very good record of sticking to that. All my devices have been rooted on the first day, ha ha. I'll see how long I can hold out this time

Preordered mine half an hour after Telstra preordering opened.
Looking forward to getting it next week.
Been trying to backup without root on my s6 sing Helium, but for some reason it stops at the Desktop Password. It's set to blank, but no matter what I do, no dice
Is this the only way I can backup all my app data etc to transfer to my S8+ ?
I am not expecting root for the s8+ for a while, but would like to transfer all my stuff across to the new phone.
Messages are backed up to the cloud using MySMS, so that's no issue. Contacts are on my G account.

Pre-ordered mine from Virgin and got a clear case. Also ordered a White marble Dbrand skin. I can't wait to receive my phone. I'm hoping that Tkkg1994 brings his SuperMan Rom to the S8 & S8+.

Ya, that would be like winning the lottery for this phone! The superman rom on my S7 Edge has been just awesome!!

Thats a good idea. I'll have my S7E to play with I guess and my Tab S is running my own rom. I have found I have become increasingly reliant on Android Pay so I understand that.

You guys do know if you bank with westpac they do allow nfc pay with root right?

And your better off using a bank as a method because im sure android pay or samsung pay charge fees were westpac does not.

I don't bank with Westpac. Also Android Pay doesn't charge any fees.

On another note got an email from Vodafone today saying my order has progressed and expected delivery is 19/04/17. Looking forward to getting this device soon
