Automatic bootloader UNLOCK/ROOT for AT&T 1.26/1.57/1.83/4.5.91 [UPDATE 07/31/11]

i have an atrix 2.3.6 and when i try to use option 3 it gets stuck on step 8. its waiting for device on trying to find my serial. it wont go past it. theres an unlocked on my boot but i cant use SU or TI backup yet. it hasnt completed all the way through.

the bootloader has been unlocked before, i just got it back from moto and it wont unlock. plz help!

wowwwww.... unbelievable. this is ****ty **** ****.

i followed some of the links and this is exactly my problem, i had the wifi error and sent it in and it came back w the 4.5.141 build. everything still works as normal but i do have the unlocked message on the left hand corner from trying the automatic tool. i wonder how they ended up fixing the wifi error. the report shows it as "LCD" but idk what that has to do w wifi + bootloader.

i was using this auto-unlock for 4.5.191 and im stuck
i choosed method 3 for 4.5.91 and it flash sbf after i got the expected 0x100 and now i reboot to try to get into fast boot but the phone now turns on then off before i can get there!!

forget it...
after you get 0x100 you take out battery 30 seconds then when you put it back on U MUST HOLD POWER BUTTON LONG ENOUGH UNTIL U GET TO A LIST MENU WHERE THEN YOU CAN CHOOSE FASTBOOT VIA VOLUME KEYS..

device finished unlocking.. but know im stuck at the moto/ dual core screen .. it says unlock above but it wont boot up and its been a while... any answer to this?

double edit: so it was stuck at the moto screen and i took out the battery 30 secs once again and then it boot it up correctly

one last question would be how do i check if im properly rooted?? i used this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1507991 and i see superuser in the main menu

To check for root just open a root needed app like tibu. If it prompts you to allow/deny then you have proper root

when i use option 2 after unlocking my atrix
[2] Automatic ROOT/CWM for Unlocked ATT ATRIX 4G Only (Tenfar CWM)
i am able to get to the point where i have to mount my /system file.
when i try to mount it in android recovery i get the following error.

Support:bbs.goapk.com
Error mounting /system!

i also tried mounting the rest of the directories and noticed that /osh and /preinstall are also unmountable. i did a "wipe data/factory reset" and tried the "Fix Permissions" in android recovery and it did not help.

does anyone have any idea how i can make these folders mountable?

i'm about to try to flash this stock rom with RSD as a last resort

Working on 4.5.141

Bought the Atrix off eBay. It came with stock 4.5.141
Followed this guide. As soon as I started I got "failed to boot" as expected. I had to do a couple of battery pulls in order to get to fastboot.

After I typed in my Device's ID in order to unlock, it stayed at "Unlocking your device ..." forever. I waited like 10 minutes and nothing.

I closed the cmd prompt, unpluged the usb and took the battery off for 30 seconds. Turned back on. Then it said "unlocked" on the top, but was boot looping at the ATT intro.

Went to stock recovery, wiped data and cache, and booted fine.

Installed romracer recovery using fastboot. Went into CWM, made nandroid backup and flashed jokersax's cm9. Running smooth ever since.

Posting my experience so other people with stock 4.5.141 dont freak out and gain confidence.

If you were able to do step 2 I assume your device is unlocked and you are getting the word "unlocked" on top. If that's so try this:
Press and hold down volume down button while turning on the device until you see the word "fast boot".
Press volume down button until you se the words "android recovery". Press volume up. Then press both volume up and down and you will see the recovery. Here wipe data and wipe cache.
Reboot.

If you still have issues install romracer's cwm recovery, make backup and then install any rom (remember to wipe data, cache and dalvik):

I re-atualized the 4.5.141 att version using RSD and thus re-run the steps 1 and 2.
Now I have an unblocked and rooted 2.3.6/4.5.141 Att Atrix!

I didn't panic and tried to get to fastboot but couldn't
everything froze
Now the phone does not turn on

I was using this script with my brother's phone which has 4.5.141, which I read would still work. I went through, following the instructions and heeding the advice of those who tried to unlock 4.5.141 before me. Now I am stuck at a Dual Core screen that won't go anywhere. I have tried flashing CM9, clearing the cache and data, but no luck. I have done the option that puts the new Android Recovery on, but IDK if it took. When I tried to do it again, it told me it couldn't mount /system. The recovery I am looking at mentions "GoAPK.com" and has Chinese Characters, which makes it look as though I do have the new android recovery. Please help.

I opened the script in a text editor and followed along manually. I can confirmed this works on an already rooted 4.5.141 build.

PROS:
* You will ended with an unlock bootloader (BL)

Procedure:
1. Download the attached file
2. Unzip the file inside of a new folder on your hard disk
3. Now is time to run the magic, go to the folder you just unzip the files in and double click or run "MAIN" file
4. A new windows DOS box will show up and just follow the procedure!
5. Flashing pudding part will take a little longer so be patience and let the magic do their work
6. At the end of the process your phone will reboot automatic.
7. Enjoy it!

Sadly, I didn't get to follow your step-by-step instructions because I'd already done the required steps from other sources. I flashed the ROM from my SD card, but got stuck at the Motorola logo screen. D; Does that constitute a soft-brick?

Unusable Phone

Hey Guys,

I'm new to XDA as I've been running into some issues lately. I tried this automatic boatloader and after step 4 I believe my atrix failed to boot. I followed the instructions as it said but might have disconnected the phone from the computer in the process. As a result, I cannot go back to fastboot (when I do the screen momentarily displays something then instantly shuts off) and I have no options when I turn my atrix on with the volume up key pressed. My atrix will not turn on and I am in deep panic. At this point I am willing to do a hard reset if it is possible or do anything to make my phone usable again. I greatly appreciate any help you guys offer.
