---------- Post added at 12:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:45 AM ----------

Your phone is been rooting....

1512 KB/s (26324 bytes in 0.017s)
rm: can't remove '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh': No such file or directory
rm: can't remove '/system/etc/install_recovery.sh': No such file or directory
I have the exact same problem. Can someone help?

Update: never mind, i managed to fix it. thanks tho

can someone help, the bootloader unlock worked great for me, but i can't seem to root my device. i get the following while rooting:

" Your phone is been rooting . . . .

failed to copy 'su' to '/system/bin/su' : No space left on device
chmod: /system/bin/su: No such file or directory
rm: can't remove '/system/etc/install-recovery.sh': No such file or directory
rm: can't remove '/system/etc/install_recovery.sh' : No such file or directory"

i'm thinking that my /system is apparently full or something, but how do i fix this?

If your bootloader is unlocked simply flash root to your phone. Make sure you install a custom recovery such as clockwork mod (CWM), which can be found on the play store. Then grab superuser from the following link.

http://downloads.androidsu.com/superuser/Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip

After that place it on your SD card. Then boot into recovery. Flash zip from SD card, choose the superuser zip, and you should be rooted.

Based on the info in this topic, I unlocked my Atrix, but still cant get root to set.

I followed your suggestion accordingly, and it seemed to work fine. However, root didnt take.

I'm able to mount the /system dir in rw mode via adb shell, and tool around using Root Explorer on the Atrix itself.

When I list the /system/bin dir in the shell, I cannot see su in there, however Root Explorer on the Atrix can see an su there. The su file is always zero byte in that dir.

For giggles, I renamed it "su.old" for some experimentation.... and within 30 seconds, it was magically renamed back to "su" all by itself.

Theres clearly some service/daemon/app with a choke hold on /system, which is guarding its fake "su" in bin, and also lying about free space on the mount.

I'm really quite stunned ATT and/or Motorola would waste so much time on such a petty thing, yet cant be bothered to keep their updates promise. Shameful behavior...

I just unlocked the bootloader with this Automatic bootloader & rooted. Also installed ROM manager & installed a custom ROM, it looks like the custom ROM is old. Can I install CM10 (Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.1) firmware for Atrix which I downloaded (cm-10-20121117-UNOFFICIAL-epinter-olympus.zip) on SD card. Can I flash this ROM using ROM Manager?.

EDIT: I installed CM10, Gapps from SD card & now I have Android 4.1.2 on Atrix. After 2 days of trying pheeew...Its worth the risk :). Thanks all.

Re: Automatic bootloader UNLOCK/ROOT for AT&T 1.26/1.57/1.83/4.5.91 [UPDATE 07/31/11]

I knew it works on 4.5.141.
Will this work on 4.5.145 ??

Thanks in advance!
I used it with 4.5.145 and had no issues, but I had previously unlocked my boot loader before installing 4.5.145.

I know this might be a little off topic. I'm noob at this stuff, so asking me to make changes on the fly to a procedure meant for other versions of firmware isn't really going to happen. Does anyone know about any tested / proven methods for unlocking an US MB860 bootloader, running 4.5.145?

How do you install 4.5.145 after unlocking bootloader from previous version?
OTA or Fruitcake from this one "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2137360"?

Thanks!
