Solution for my CWM problem found in the original threat "Please Remove install_recovery.sh located in your /system/etc/ ,so that the recovery will not be overwrite to stock one"...so in others words we have to apply the script for root then found some app that can edit system files (I used super manager, there is an option for root permition) then delete the install_recovery file so every time we reboot the file dont get replace, apply the script again to put the CWM
Yeap I will update my script to point that. I just replied you in your original post looking for this answer! ;)

Ok ROOT_CWM script updated to V1.1 07/25/11 11AM EST

*Adress the following: removing /system/etc/install_recovery.sh automatic, so your new CWM did not get re write by the old one

Did you unlock the bootloader first? Option? Because if it is YES the answer, you can only flash SBF with PUDDING from now on! SO BE CAREFULLY ONLY USED SBF WITH PUDDING AFTER UNLOCK

Really? Lol hmm didn't know that I unlocked then flashed original 1.26 and with no pudding and retained unlock and everything was fine. I had unlocked 1.83

Can you please PM me details of you process? and the name of the file you flashed as "original 1.26" was a service or full sbf, if you can send the MD5 of the file will be great?

MAYBE YOU WERE THE LUCKY ONE, but all the hard bricks you will find on the forum are due to install GB OTA and then trying flash SBF of 1.83 at least those are confirmed

did as OP said, from 1.83, my Atrix has now unlocked bootloader - then did moto-fastboot to get 4.5.91 on my atrix via image flashing (system.img/boot.img/radio.img/webtop.img). which was the only way to get it, because OTA failed due failed checksum in webtop related APKs - I had the webtop-w/o-dock-via-HDMI mod, but a failing microSD killed the backup files from the webtob-mod.

Now, I am on 4.1.91, but I dont have root (which i desperately need for some productivity apps)....is there any other way to get it, other than OP's described way ?
cheers

Thanks-a-thon for the awesomely fast reply -
I assume you mean the ROOT_CWM.bat, correct? Did/executed that script/batch. now, I just tried Better Terminal Emu PRO and "su" in it and got a "permission denied", MY BACKUP PRO doesn't detect root rights either.

when it went through (assumingly, looking at the Batch-file) the...
- adb push su /system/bin/su
- adb shell chmod 6755 /system/bin/su
- adb rm /system/etc/install_recovery.sh
- adb rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
...commands, a CRAPLOAD of sorts of options/command lists/-help rushed through the CMD-/DOS window!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if a command options/list-help rushes through, doesnt that usually mean a failed command/option ?

cheers

I can bet you have Windows Vista/7 64 bits right? I had that issue with the adb command

So can you please check if the script indeed install the new android recovery:

1. Turn Off phone
2. Press and Hold Vold down key while your turn on
3. Hold until it show up "fastboot" and release the vol down key
4. Now press vold down key until the tag "android recovery" comes in
5. Press vol up to enter to Android recovery
6. Check what version you have on android recovery in the top??

ATT right? (YOU HAVE TO BE SURE YOU HAVE AN ATT ATRIX)

if you want to preserve your data go ahead and unlock 1.83 (option 2) then apply ota and the re run script chosing agains option 2

This is probably a stupid question...but does this unlock equate to Pudding? Or is Pudding something different?

I unlocked my bootloader with this AFTER I had already installed the leaked OTA 4.5.91 about 2 wks ago. I was going to install the latest official 4.5.91 as it looks like my kernal is down version.

I'm scared SH!TLESS I'm going to brick my phone....

I am now unlocked I downloaded Download ATT 2.3.4 pudding+root here from the pudding thread...am I safe with that?
Procedure:
1. Download the following file from this link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JP9ZG268

2. Unzip the file inside of a new folder on your hard disk
3. Double check if actually you have a “unlock” bootloader unit ready to flash a ROM (prerequisite). How do you do this? Turn off complete your unit then press and hold vol down key and turn on your unit until it show up a tag “Unlocked” upper left corner and under this tag show up “Fastboot” release the vol down key
4. Now press vol up key to enter to the “Fastboot” mode
5. A tag under Fastboot will show up as follow: “Starting Fastboot protocol support”
6. Now is time to run the magic, go to the carpet you just unzip the file and double press or run “clean_4.5.91_ATT” file
7. A new windows DOS windows box will show up, now just press any key to continue on each part of the process
8. Flashing System / Webtop / Preinstall will take a little longer (aprox. 1 minute each) so be patience and let the magic do their work
9. At the end of the process you will be ask to reboot your phone automatic.
10. Enjoy it!

PROS:
• This procedure will actually CLEAN complete your phone except your INTERNAL & EXTERNAL sdcards.
• At the end you will have a Phone running pristine images of 4.5.91
• You will ended with an automatic root system, you just need to install Superuser from the market after first boot, no more hassles looking for rooting options
• You will end with Official Mobile Hotspot working so no more APN hacks or third hands apk from the market.

Is there a way to relock the boot loader after unlocking in order to do a future ota update? I like to have a way back to stock before I do any changes.

Thanks Ramirez...

I used the the .sbf on the pudding site but it was identical to what I already had and I did want to get a "clean" install.

Just logging in for the first time, the one thing I see happening is the keyboard when you first have to enter Blur and than setting up google is very slow and sluggish...I have to push slowly and pretty hard...any thoughts what would be causing that?

Yeah pretty bad problem with keyboard input...I could barely type in my blur account...and cannot get my gmail typed in due to the sluggishness of the keyboard...

Ok, its nothing about the keyboard per se, its the touch screen in general is VERY sluggish...let me know if you need any info from me to diagnose.

Ok, take everything back...phone must have been loading a bunch of crap in the background because after I let it sit for a few minutes everything was back to normal...never seen it act like this before when I've flashed in the past but its working great now.
