I tested the downgrade script yesterday. It does his job, but after that there are no OTA's possible because of the missing modem downgrade.

I fixed it for a fully downgrade: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B134drJ4-Ed0MHQ5aE1wUmp5eFk/view?usp=drivesdk

Use that file only with a unlocked Bootloader!!!!!
In my experience (ghost user) downgrade a modem works till "new" OTA (not that you used before) after that... you will have a beatiful paperweight

excuse my poor english... I'm latino! :p

Hello,
Sorry for my bad English. I am writing with the google translator.
I had android 7 on my phone and wanted to go back to android 6.
if I use the script, I always have the following errors.

C:\mfastboot flash partition gpt.bin
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'partition' (45 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.000s]
writing 'partition'...
(bootloader) Validating 'gpt.default.xml'
(bootloader) Security version downgrade
(bootloader) Image primary_gpt failed validation
(bootloader) Preflash validation failed
(bootloader) Cancelling 'gpt.default.xml'
FAILED (remote failure)

finished. total time: 0.078s

And in the following:

C:\mfastboot flash boot boot.img
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'boot' (16384 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.593s]
writing 'boot'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.296s]
finished. total time: 0.889s
C:\mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'recovery' (16484 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.593s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.312s]
finished. total time: 0.905s

Can someone tell me what it has to mean.

Thanks for the help.

1- To perform a downgrade, you should ignore gpt.bin and bootloader.img flash commands

2- All available firmware images of moto Z play are not signed. I think that means that are not certified by motorola.

Error Message from the Script

Hello,
i try to use the "DOWNGRADE FIRMWARE.bat" but i get the error that the command "mfastboot" is either wrong or cant be found.
See attached file.
Unzip your script and the firmware in the same folder.
Mfastboot.exe is also availble.

It is my understanding as long as I do not flash bootloader or modem, I can flash back to MM. Then now that I have a stock N rom, I can flash back to N, not flashing bootloader or modem. Is that correct?

I use your script to downgrade and I worked very well, the detail is that I read a lot that if we flash the following commands, we will lose the IMEI of the device, you can tell me if it has to be a result of how we flash the flashing position

Thank you very much for your time and help by sharing your work.

a question, system without changes only unlock the bootloader to downgrade 7 to 6 but replace version and without problems i thank you your answers, use all the commands until the recommended not to use not to lose the imei and of fact volvi nougat but with other updates: The detail is want to use the version retapac of 6.0.1 stock but when it is updated over normal, can i follow your script used without asking the imei and nothing true? I have not done any stupid and i did not have any root, my pretension is receiving ota updates

No OTA's ever?

I've actually downgraded with the O.P's method. I'm not getting any notifications for the nougat update (which I dont mind). However will this stop me from getting any of the newer updates? or patches for nougat? Basically I just want to know that my phone wont get bricked.

I've downgraded to Marshmallow a month ago at least, and I've gotten the Nougat OTA + March 2017 Security Patch OTA through my carrier.
