Is there any downside on any Custom ROM? like missing VoLTE, no double tap to sleep/wake, and stuff? Also how's root hiding situation right now? My last phone was so problematic, so I am pretty out dated about rooting & custom ROM scene in general.I flashed Arrow OS and If I'm honest It's way behind SparkOS and EvolutionX. CONS: Example1: I can't change the size of my icons on the home screen. Example: It's running android 13.0 compared to 13.2 on the other two. Example3: Dolby Atmos nowhere to be found. Example4: Can't disable icons in the top bar like NFC. Example5: No battery health info and no charging info on the lockscreen (wattage, mah, etc.). I'd probably find more with a bit more testing, but I don't like It I'm definetly switching back to SparkOS though there are some PRO's for arrowOS. Since It's so lightweight It has better scores in antutu benchmarks by about 100k and apparently better stability and battery life. That's about It really If you're wondering which Custom ROM to install currwntly, go for either SparkOS or EvolutionX. That's my recommendation. They're both very stock with neat extra features. If you game a lot (more or less just Genshin Impact on Ultra) than ArrowOS is probably for you. If you are a casual gamer (COC, CR, PUBG, COD, etc.) stick with the other two. If you want the newest features sooner get the one of the other two, because the build of android is 2 months newer.
ANTUTU SCORES:
Evolution X and SparkOS: both very close 560000
ArrowOS: 660000
Both results are rounded by about 2K just so It's easier to follow.
And yes these are the best most optimized and most reliable ROM's for POCOF4 out right now so choose between these. Can't wait for Pixel Experience Plus Official to come out. We'll see how that's gonna compare to these three.
Hope this helps anyone who's wondering which one to install.
Edit: I discovered a benchmark and gaming feature under battery settings in SparkOS and EvolutionX which when enabled lifts antutu score to 640000 on SparkOS and to 690000 on EvolutionX. Now It should be a no brainer get the SparkOS or EvolutionX.
PS: I switched to EvolutionX because of better battery life and I just installed Dolby Atmos through Magisk.
The only thing that's really a downside is no dolby vision support everything else you either have in the rom itself or you can get it via root. And I have zero clue about root hidding. I am fortunate enough that my bank app doesn't detect root. All the features will work as long as you flash the latest global firmware before flashing the custom rom. Hope this helps. I recommend either crDroid SparkOS or EvoXIs there any downside on any Custom ROM? like missing VoLTE, no double tap to sleep/wake, and stuff? Also how's root hiding situation right now? VoLTE/WoFifi works (SparkOS), but maybe you will need to download "Advanced PDC tool" and switch mobile carrier from default to your country to enable it.Is there any downside on any Custom ROM? like missing VoLTE, no double tap to sleep/wake, and stuff? Start/stop charging on certain percentage? If so, it is available on SparkOS and - if I remember well - on CatalystOS.
I've not tested any room for F4 but from my experience with other phones, your loosing camera quality and general stability. My last time with a custom ROM was PE on a Xiaomi Mi Mix 3. Stock MIUI isn't perfect but I do like taking pictures here and there, with PE custom ROM I couldn't cause either the stock camera app sucked or gcam ports were buggy, to the point that taking a picture could crash the phone, had to manually force shutdown. Is there any downside on any Custom ROM? like missing VoLTE, no double tap to sleep/wake, and stuff?
