I actually just found out the problem I was using a third party dialer and not the stock and that let me in to the Service mode. I appear to have Band 4 activated and am in a city that has it but not really seeing a difference so Hmmm.

I actually was using the stock dialer with Beans and the codes wouldn't work for me.

You're on the Verizon variant right? I was waiting for Safestrap to be updated in order to flash to the rom slots. But I haven't checked in a long time.

Phoenix at 7th St. and Indian School I had Band 4. Download bleh at about 13, but upload was through the roof, like pinned at 69. I didn't take a screenie, sorry. Will do later for the Phoenix crew.

Ok, I've read this thread front to back and I hope I didn't miss something. I am on Beans rom NC2, rooted 4.4.2. I was able to follow the instructions in the OP and access the service menu. I live near Cedar Rapids IA which is one of the cities listed as having xlte. In the service menu I can clearly see that my phone connects to band 13 by default. I get decent enough speeds (approx 16 mbps down) on 13. I forced band 4 and my speed doubled but I had no ability to make calls. Is there a way yet to have band 4 and still make calls? I saw a few previous posts that alluded to the same problem. Just wondering if I am missing something or if it's just a feature that hasn't been truly rolled out yet by VZW. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Stick - where are you at? I've got the Note 3 with rooted 4.3 stock and forced mine to band 4 but didn't get anything.

I'm located on the NW side of town by Ellis boat houses.

I'm up in Marion north of Boyson rd. You're even closer to town than me so you should be better off. I wonder if the modem has anything to do with it. I just did beans KK upgrade for NC2 the day my phone tried to OTA. I didn't flash the NC 4 modem like some did. I've been on the fence about it because I've heard conflicting reports on it. I wish I could get this figured out. My speed was great on band 4 but couldn't make calls. Had to put it back in automatic.

Update 6/8... was closer to town near Cedar Rapids IA in line at a restaurant and decided to check while I waited. My phone had auto acquired band 4 and my speeds were through the roof. When I got home I was back on 13. I guess I'll have to wait for it to become more widespread in our area.

Utility to show the band you are on?

Is anyone aware of a utility that would place info on your connection up in the status bar, for example if you were on Band 4 at that moment?

Thanks!

As many of you already know, Note 3 is one of a few Verizon smartphones that has a Category 4 LTE modem, capable of delivering 150Mbps download speeds... great to have this thread for reports on Verizon's Band 4 LTE, and especially Speedtest.net results which should be north of 100Mbps!

*#0011# General Debug screen
*#2263# Allows you to force any frequency on your phone
*#27663368378# Main screen

There are a few other codes, please post your findings!
I'm in Seattle on Band 4 20MHz, with good signal, and I have pretty dismal speeds (for band 4). I've gotten 40up/30 down on my Note2 just a couple miles away from here.

So much for super fast data :(

Best I have done so far in Fort Wayne is 49mb down and 17mb up. Sadly the Tower by my house has not been updated and I only get 2-6mb if I am lucky. I use to get 15-20mb down at my house.

How is RSRP -105dBm and SNR of 8.4dB a "good signal"? Those are pretty bad values. At this point your device isn't even using 2 codewords, etc.

Good signal is RSRP of around -80dBm and SNR value of >20dB.
