My Nook HD's CPU usage is slightly higher when woken up by the magnetic sleep/wake cover than when woken up by a hardware button (power or Nook). The extra CPU is taken up by the Android System service, not to be confused with the System service. Android System uses roughly 0.5% CPU (it fluctuates) when woken up by a button and roughly 1.5% CPU (it fluctuates) when woken up by the magnetic sleep/wake cover. In the latter case, if I then do a second sleep/wake cycle with buttons, Android System CPU usage drops back down to roughly 0.5%.

I should mention that my Nook HD also has problems waking up sometimes, requiring several tries. From other threads here, others have the same problem with their Nook HDs.

Could someone check with B&N Stock 2.2.1 unrooted, unmodified and see if they observe the same behavior? Thanks!

P.S. I have a new cover w/o magnetic sleep/wake on order.
