Last night my Zuk prompted a CyanogenMod update , which I installed. Now, the back function of the home button (by just touching it, not pressing) doesn't work anymore. Any ideas on how to fix this ?

I dont think resetting will help. I'm just waiting till the next update, or the big update to 6.0 Marshmallow early next year. Really weird that they haven't fixed it yet, shouldnt be that difficult..

They dummied it out on the fingerprint_client and kernel binary... I've been tracking this issue down all day already. Theoretically, swapping the zImage for an older one, along with an older fingerprint_client binary should fix the issue.

Edit: Got it running on the latest COS again after a few patches here and there... will post a flashable boot.img soon.

Edit2: Here you go, all patched up and ready to go. Just flash it via fastboot and you will get your back-button functionality back. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087008212

Thanks! Do you know if this will work with CyanogenMod? Not CyanogenOS

should we wait for an update? there's not one issue im facing with the zuk z1. there are many like:

-the back button on the home key soft touch is not working
-the capacitive touch button on the left is much brighter than the right one hence not equal
-the swipe right or left to switch b/w apps on the home key is not working

I don't know, I personally believe that they removed the feature on purpose because I was able to use it when I first bought the phone..

Just use the boot image I've posted to temporarily restore it.

The OnePlus 2 kernel sources contain a patched fingerprint driver that is compatible with the Z1 that contains the capacitive navigation that got stripped.

It's already being picked up / ported for the Chroma kernel so don't worry guys, on the long run we will get this feature back permanently (no matter what Cyanogen wants).

I can't answer on the official thread as I don't have more than 10 posts, anyway, thanks for the feature, I tested it on CM12.1-Nightly and it works like a charm! Unfornately i noticed that after flashing the zip, on "buttons" settings, the "enable on screen nav bar" option has disappeared, and I can't go turn them off. Also the functionality is not the same as when i bought it, in fact if I touched the button, it would use the back feature instead of going on the home screen.
Anyway, thanks again!

Hi , thx alot for ur patch .
Got some questions :
1. How can i programm button myself ?
2. How can i uninstall that patch ?
You can use 3rd party programs from playstore. for example"flashify". save the patch to internal store by usb. install flashify. find the path of yog4pas3oh....img and set up. after reboot it will work. Also you can unistall it from setting/ applications

Hi,
1- plug your usb cable to your pc.
2- download the file "YOG4PAS3OH_backbuttonenabled_boot.img" which uploaded by MrColdbird.
3- copy the file to zuk z1s internal store.
4- open flashify. choose "recovery image", choose file manager, find and choose the "YOG4PAS3OH_backbuttonenabled_boot.img"
5-program asks you flash recovery? and choose YUP.
6- after rebooting your touch backbutton will work with permission of God.

But I offer another upload of Mrcoldbird. Because extra properties come by it.
" Left swipe: Back
Right swipe: Recent Apps
Tap: Home"
