I'm trying to revert my HTC U11 back to stock because I want to sell it. I'm just posting here to be sure I'm doing everything right. I own a HTC U11 (DUGL, European version). Currently I use a custom ROM Maximus HD 3.4.0 ("[ROM] MaximusHD | 3.4.0 | Android 8.0.0. | Fast&Stable | APM | OTA | 2.33.401.19"). So my phone is rooted and unlocked with the latest TWRP recoyery. When I boot into download mode and issue "fastboot getvar all" I'm told I'm using version 1.13.401.1 whereas Maximus HD claims to be on 2.33.401.19. That gets me confused.
Fastboot also says my MID is 2PZC30000 and my CID is HTC__034.
I'd like to reflash a stock image using a RUU but am unsure about the correct one. Is it 2.33.401.10 or 1.13.401.1? Any advice is appreciated.

I'm now back on stock thanks to your guide. Now I'd like to lock the bootloader. But whenever I enter fastboot/bootloader mode every fastboot command only returns < waiting for device > and nothing happens. I'm using the fastboot from HTC. In another thread I read fastboot oem lock only works in downlaod mode with no SD card in the phone but that didn't help me either.

I tried the procedure on another computer and it worked. I issued fastboot oem lock in download mode with no SD card installed and then I could lock my bootloader. Bingo!

Partitions when going back to stock ...

Try fastboot oem relock in bootloader, and if it doesn't work in download mode as well.

Hi 5m4r7ph0n36uru,

Question. When going back to stock by flashing RUU which partitions can I expect it will overwrite? Just /system and /recovery? /misc?

As @miffymiffy wrote, all partitions will be overwritten, as it is the way to flash/install full stock softwares on HTC phones.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but when installing the full latest RUU zip from SD card everything appears to install but I can't get past the boot screen. I can boot into the bootloader or downloader, but when trying to boot normally after the exclamation mark boot screen it will just reboot.

Do you have any idea of what it might be getting stuck on that would trigger a reboot right after the boot screen? Is there any way for me to see the bootlog? I'm new to android but I'm adept with linux.

Also, is it possible for me to unzip the RUU and flash it zip by zip using fastboot? Maybe it's not flashing the entire zip when updating?
