I am a new Sprint HTC One Max owner and I so far like the phone dearly. However, there is one foible I'm having trouble with which my previous devices had no trouble with. I tend to use Skype a bunch, but once Skype is pushed to the background it begins to lag horribly, audio wise. Clearly the OS is starving the Skype thread of computational time, presumably in an effort to save power by clocking background cores as low as possible. It clearly isn't running out of resources, as just sitting on the home screen triggers the lag, no need to actually be doing anything in the foreground.
Any thoughts on a fix that wouldn't require replacing the stock ROM?
