So I guess I'm having the same problems as others. Since yesterday I'm getting play protect errors on google apps. Is fixing this going to require a full wipe/reset or can it be done non destructively?
I've attached the errors and versions. The phone has been great for over a year since I first put google on it.
Happy for any help!!

I have tried force closing, clearing cache etc but the problem returns immediately.

In my opinion it is a problem with Google Play services version. It is new version, and Google made changes on it that provide errors on our phones.
It is NOT needed to downgrade and re-install GMS. You can try one of solutions presented here (V1-V4):

If none works, let me know in private.

Downgrade in one step from the last version of EMUI, to install GMS ( P40Pro C432 with EMUI version (is lower than) < 11.0.0.260):

This method should be used just in case a downgrade from original HiSuite is not possible/available.

You have to follow the below tutorial + next remarks:
a. uninstall your original HiSuite from computer and phone;

b1 install attached HiSuite 11 on computer and connect the phone to computer. HiSuite app will be installed on the phone. Do not upgrade HiSuite. It will ask for it.;
b.2 Disconnect phone from computer and uninstall HiSuite11 from computer (only). Do not touch HiSuite app from phone.
b.3 install attached HiSuite10 on computer. Do not connect the phone to computer. Do not upgrade HiSuite. It will ask for it. Phone will be connected to computer just after you already set attached Proxy app and start HiSuite 10 on the phone.

c. you should have free space on your computer for download the needed files( minimum 6-8 GB free on partition C:, NTFS format);

d. your phone must have the battery charged 100%;

e. after downgrade you will lose Fast Charge and connection to computer via USB cable;

f. after you install GMS, upgrade Over the Air (from phone menu) several times to the last version of EMUI, where you will get back Fast Charge and connection to computer via USB cable;

g. Pay attention to the files that you use/download from https://www.firmfinder.ml/ or https://professorjtj.github.io/
In this tutorial it is presented just a case. Do not use the same files for every phone model or region. I can help you to choose the right files. Just let me know.

h. Dont downgrade to an intermediate firmware version.

i. HiSuite 10.1.0.550 = is no red icon on the desktop. Red icon is on HiSuite11 only. After you press setup you will start HiSuite10 from original icon.

On P40 Pro C432 use 10.1.0.121.

A video tutorial just to know how to work with this apps: here. You have to follow my written tutorial.

Hi guys and girls.

I downgraded to 10.1.0.131 to install GMS, then upgraded to 10.1.0.176 (C432E7R4P1) and I can't upgrade further. "Your software is up to date". I lost PC connectivity, so HiSuite and HiSuite Proxy isn't an option for me. eRecovery also doesn't work - "Get package info failed".

Firmware finder app also not helping, "Most likely the firmware was removed from the server".

Please help me to get it to EMUI 11 to get back fast charging and PC connectivity. At this point I stopped caring for GMS, I'll just use the phone as is for a few months and then get something with Google Certification.

I've got a 256GB USB and a OTG USB-A to USB-C cable.

I found this page, but I'm not sure if I can use P40 Pro+ FW on my P40 Pro: http://huawei-firmware.com/?q=els-&load_page=search&page=1

Try to go through Support app from app gallery (or My Huawei if you updated it). There is Support tab, scroll down and click More > its bit hidden, you have to scroll down a bit on right part of screen. Pick Update (bottom left, I have it translated so not sure if it is called that in eng version) and try to update that way. It usually works...

I forgot to mention that I also tried that, but to no success. It just brings me to the standard software update in the settings and says that I'm up to date. Thanks for the tip though!

Hey man, first of all thank you for supporting people like this, means a lot really (I know how frustrating it can get after trying 100 times and no results)

I had everything working fine until few days ago when I reset my google account password because I am an idiot...

For whatever reason I did a factory reset on my phone, now I have:
Huawei P40 Pro
ELS-NX9
Build: 11.0.0.234 (C185E6R4P4)

I successfully downgraded to correct build in the past and managed to run Google services with no issues but for whatever reason I am now getting following error when trying to revert to needed build with OTG Update method:

"Software install failed!
Incompatability with current vesion.
Please download the correct update package."

In the past I definitely used one of the links from this thread (actually provided by you): https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...4V_ut02SdmbSVOsT5sMLAWUiOJio1t5JD5gZ_WraGNhNk

I also tried to get from this repository (uploaded by starbase64)

I do not know what to do anymore, it has reached the point where I can't access some very sensitive information due to absence of apps... Please tell me what I can do or how I can get Google apps back... I would be really grateful

There is a tutorial for resetting your Google account, in case you change your passwords ...
There was no need for a reset.
Next time ask before doing nonsense.
Maybe our mate @ badmania98 will be able to fix you ...
This is the method (for next time):

I agree 100%

Also @badmania98 you beautiful bastard I DID it!!!! I finally did it following one of your videos! I used HiSuite method instead but I see supercharging option is now lost. I recall seeing somewhere here that we can fix that too, any pointers?

What I am asking is, do I need to update the phone now automatically or manually to get the supercharger back?

    @Eini666 and @badmania98 you glorious bastards.
    EMUI downgraded to 10.1.0.121

    About to install Googlifier.

    As usual, you guys find yourselves in Prague beers on me <3
    All thanks should go to to @badmania98 I only had to downgrade and install GMS 3 days ago, so I just read the entire guide and I still remember what and how.

    Hello everybody!
    I'm here to thank @badmania98 for helping with installing notifications for GMS services for a Huawei P40 pro.
    I downgraded from EMUI 12 following the steps described on this thred. I also had a weird problem (maybe others had it) - downgrade to EMUI 10 via OTG connection from a 64gb Kingston stick didn't work - the stick was formatted correctly. It was solved by using another older 8gb stick.
    After installing the GMS services, I contacted @badmania98 who was willing to help me the same evening - the process took an hour or so, during which time thousands of steps were taken - I consider the price for the service more than fair.
    Very good communication and the best result!

    Hello there,

    I am having a bit of an issue here, maybe you can help me out.
    I had EMUI 12 - Huawei P40 Pro (factory reset) and I downloaded latest official HiSuite to downgrade to EMUI 11.

    So my info was:
    Build version: 11.0.0.249
    Model: ELS-N29
    Region: C185
    R number: R4

    Edit 1.0:
    Followed your instructions and I downloaded a DLOAD file provided by you for version 11.0.0.230 (used your C432 instead of C185) (C432E3R6P4) and now my phone info reads:

    Build: 11.0.0.230 (C185E6R4P4). There was no change in region it seems?

    THE (UPDATED) ISSUE
    I am unable to use HiSuite or OTG method for whatever reason to downgrade to EMUI 10 to install Googlifier.

    A) I tried using HiSuite Proxy for ELS-N29 C184 (R4) to roll-back to 10.1.0.114 and 10.1.0.131 both. But soon as the files are 100% downloaded I get error "Failed to update"

    B) I downloaded DLOAD for 10.1.0.131 (from your old post) --> Elsa-N29D 10.1.0.131(C185E9R4P1). But when I try to install from recovery mode I am getting: "Software install failed: incompatibility with current version)

    Please tell me what am i doing wrong here, I spent all day reading and re-reading your instructions not to be lazy but i'm hitting a wall for whatever reason....
    Which hisuite version are you using to downgrade ? Latest version V11.0.0.610 you need only do downgrade from emui 12 to latest version od emui 11 and to have latest version hisuite app on the phone.
    After that you need to uninstall hisuite from computer and install 10.1.0.550_OVE-BUN but only on computer with no upgrades of firmware in phone and computer.
    Hisuite Proxy and Hisuite 10.1.0.550 will give you possibility to downgrade from 11.0.0.230 to 11.0.0.121

    I see let me give it a try and get back to you.
    Thank you @Eini666
    That worked for me and this is why I wrote that guide.

    With husuit proxy but could not find firmware below 154
    That is because you used v2 on firmwares page. You have to use without v2 on the address link

    This is good for you: here.

    Downgrade

    0. 20220315: Downgrade from EMUI12 is working with HiSuite 11.0.0.610.

    For P40 Pro C432, to downgrade:

    a. from stable EMUI12 12.0.0.218/228 to EMUI11 11.0.0.260 ( P40Pro C432), use the newest original version of HiSuite. At this moment is HiSuite_11.0.0.610_OVE. No proxy has been used.

    6. The transfer files between Computer and phone is available on the downgraded firmware (10.1.x.x) when you use a certain USB-c to USB-c cable. In this case a UGREEN, US355, USB-C To USB-C, 3.1, Gen.2, PD, 5A, 100W, 4K, 10 Gbps cable has been used. In the same time, using the original USB cable or other ordinary USB-c to USB-C cable have not activated the file transfer.
    Harmony TP cable works also, in case your computer/laptop doesn't have USB-C port. You can build/make one (search the procedure on YouTube).

    Hello everyone,

    I want to share my experience here.

    I posted earlier a problem on xda "Can't downgrade P40 Pro ELS-N29 C432 from 11.0.0.260 to 10.1.0.131"

    I tired many solution for several days and nothing worked!
    Then I contacted badmania98 and he gave me the right and only solution to downgrade my P40 Pro from 11.0.0.260 to EMUI 10.
    He provided me with the corresponding links and gave me a step by step procedure, shown in pictures that are highlighted by numbers..
    " 1. Press this 2. insert that 3. etc... " and then he doubled check my work before I proceeded in Hisuite Proxy to make sure that the filled info about base, Cust, Preload and the software are 100% accurate.
    I was able to downgrade my P40 Pro to EMUI 10 😁

    Now here's the best part: He gave a private service and installed GSM on my phone using TeamViewer. He used his own files to install GSM on my phone... This service allowed me to have Google Push notifications working on my phone without disabling the Google Play Store 😁
    Google service is working, maps, push notifications, everything related to Google is working now as if this phone originally had Google Pre-Installed in it 😁

    It was a great service!

    Thank you so much
