Whomever...

Well, I did a full wipe and install of NABD after updating to NC5D because I can't read and I was sent a link to NABD stockish zip instead of NC5D stockish zip [emoji6]... I fresh flashed it and after booting up I wondered what happened to my wi-fi calling option... Then looking in the "about device" menu revealed what a bonehead I was... Oops.. All good now tho. The same guy hooked me up with a link to the NC5D stockish zip I was originally looking for .... So I guess you could say that in the NC5D engineering bootloader you can (at least I did) go back to an NABD ROM. I didn't, however, go back to the NABD modem.... And wouldn't.

Well, whomever sent you on that crazy wending path hopefully went the extra step and aligned it for you. That does not sound like fun at all.

Yessir, he's a really great guy and he went the extra step or 3 to get me back on track. You should have been there, it was only a slight detour of inconvenience, but in the end, that's all it was.

Afterword I thought to myself that I wouldn't have tried returning to NABD after updating to NC5D in fear of it going real bad. But I can say it was a pleasing experience to know it could be done.

So in reading and re reading topic after topic I'm on k3 test2, nab engineering bootloader. Do I just Odin the nc5 engineering bootloader, then this and done then run a nc5 base rom if want?

At the moment, I'm unclear, but I believe you may need to do the full update (reflash stock NAB, apply update zip or zips). The WiFi calling part of the firmware of the phone, so I believe that everything needs to be at that build level.

It should be where it always has resided...in the settings menu, general tab, second choice from the bottom, system update.

micmars,

The only thing I see is under About device....System updates and then a button that says "Check now". I can't find Profile and PRL update. I am on Sac's Rom. Am I missing something?

I believe that rom uses the S5 settings menu, with the option to restore stock settings.

You'll likely need to do that if the updates for PRL and profile aren't integrated into the S5 settings.

Ok Thanks....I was getting ready to go to freeza's Stockish ROM using the thread you posted "Instructions for Obtaining NC5/NC5D, Flashing roms in OP" but I need wifi hotspot. Does it work with his rom?

It works with any NC5(D) based rom, which includes Stockish, stock, ViSiON-X, and soon others.

The Hotspot Mod...

I thought I was reading in that thread that the hotspot mod wasn't working on NC5.
The hotspot mod designed for NAB(D) DeOdex does not work on any NC5(D)-based rom. When the mod for the KitKat build is on the grid, I am certain that it will propagate across the forums.

Did you update your phone first? Meaning, check post 1583 in the stockish rom thread, it'll get you there.

So the general consensus is that this modem is definitely an upgrade then? Obviously results will vary from area to area.
