This is the KRKL1 radio that came with the the Korean 4.0.2 update (yakjukr/M420/SK Telecom). I did not dump this myself, as I am rooted and running a custom ROM and kernel, but rather it was found on a Korean Nexus forum. I decided to upload it here for the benefit of non-Korean speaking users.

Unfortunately, I did not document the signal strength of KRKK7, so I can only offer empirical evidence of any change (of which there is little to none). While I cannot attest to any benefits in battery life or signal, conversely there are also no problems.

If I run into any issues, I will document them here.

I am running it on my GN on O2-UK and I can't see a difference with UGKL1.
Maybe there is a battery difference, we will see:)

I'm on 3 uk wireless tethering seems so much better with this radio, download speeds better and more consistent, and ping times better and consistent too, yet to try voice and travelling about with it, and so far so good :D

the radio will work on any GSM galaxy nexus, it's location means nothing. if it works the best out of them all, then stick with it.

KRKL1 just means this is the same as the UGKL1 radio, except for the Korean market. Nothing special here. Not sure why everyone is in a rush to try this.

What we're really looking for is something like an **LA1 or **KL2 radio, both of which would be newer than anything we have thus far.

If they are all the same why google make it hard for it self and region named them. it is not logic. I just flashed this radio, i see wifi signals is lower on the same location comparing the XXKK6, and UGKK7. Will Test the Data speed, also the Detecting the roaming profile for the WINDMOBILE users, as it is a famus issue with the UKKL1

    samizad requested a trimmed version that is flashable via fastboot. Here it is.

    unzip it before flashing!

    Try again and give the exact error message.

    The radio has lots of zeros at the end of the file that need to be trimmed. Other radios have been too but I don't know how to. Anyone?

    If you ever want to do it yourself it's pretty easy.

    • Get a hex editor - I use this one cause it's free http://mh-nexus.de/en/
    • Open the image to be modified in the hex editor.
    • Search->Goto - 00C00100 (this location is usually the start of the garbage. usually in the form of all FFFF's then followed by all 0000's.)
    • Edit->Select_block - 00c00100 for start, FFFFFFFF for end.
    • then Edit->Delete.
    • Save it and your're done :)
    at 009fefc0 you'll find the name of the radio. ex; I9250XXKL1, ect..

    will this run on my European Galaxy Nexus too? someone tryed?

    Yes. Running it on my UK GSM model i9250 and it's perfectly fine. I have no idea why Samsung gave the M420 code to the Korean model. It's the same an the i9250.
