apologies for asking this here- i have SM-G965N (stock, no root, latest one UI)- i see only lte/3g and 3g only option.
could you please suggest what to do if i want to see full fledged options like global firmwares- like 2g, 2g/3g auto, 3g, 2g/3g/lte (auto)?
i am familiar with odin. which file i can flash to get unlocked mobile network selection options?
I'm wondering the same thing.
I also have a G960N device but live in a country that belongs to the (F) region, and i'm getting garbage signal with the korean basebands and i'm wondering if it is possible to flash an F baseband on an N firmware.

i am not being able to share screenshots off my phone at this moment. but, you know when you want to switch the preferred network like from 2g to 3g or 2g/3g auto, or even 2g/3g/4g auto- there is not such option in my phone. it's only 3g/lte auto or 3g only. Also, on the lock screen top right corner, my career's name is not shown- instead a code like 40007. i figure this is controlled by 'KT' app which comes natively with this firmware. It is of course a KT-variant firmware.

i found a guy doing an interesting thing here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ycpnsWJdURQ
after rooting his note 4, he removes the CSC folder and restarts. then- guess what- the global version preferred network selection options are all there! 2g/2g-3g auto/3g only/2g-3g-4g auto.
not sure if this trick will also be applicable for korean version S9+ though.

I just tried replacing my stock N modem with a TWRP-flashable F one, after flashing it through TWRP, the cellular signal disappeared entirely, and trying to go into 'Connections' will crash the 'Settings' app. so yeah I think switching to an F modem when you have N CSC installed just doesn't work.

Dear to all, I have bought samsung sm-g9600/ds. Current firmware is G9600ZHU3CSB3 (pda) and G9600TGY3CSB3 (csc). I want update the device to the most recent firmware with root patch available, so in this website https + "://desktop" + ".firmware.mobi " I have found that last firmware with available root is G9600ZHS4CSD7 (pda). I have searched to many sites that firmware but wasn't easy to find, moreover download speed was very low (about 15 KB/sec) until I have found the following thread http + "://4pda.ru" + "/forum/index.php?showtopic=904540" where a user have shared G9600ZHS4CSD7 build on his one drive account. In one drive there was a subfolder named "G9600ZCU4CSC5" with a file archive "SM-G9600_3_20190422140201_c6lg6lgrge_fac.zip". Now, considering that my current firmware's name start with "G9600ZHU..." and that subfolder start with "G9600ZCU...", are the file containing in it compatible with my device? Can somebody confirm if the files are correct calculating crc32 code?
The files are the following:
1. AP_G9600ZHS4CSD7_CL15678484_QB23218013_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS9.tar.md5 with CRC32 23D11F5B
2. BL_G9600ZHS4CSD7_CL15678484_QB23218013_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 with CRC32 C1BCC37E
3. CP_G9600ZCU4CSC5_CP12269444_CL15678484_QB22866407_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 with CRC32 FC27A41E
4. CSC_OMC_TGY_G9600TGY4CSD7_CL15678484_QB23218013_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 with CRC32 69711538
5. HOME_CSC_OMC_TGY_G9600TGY4CSD7_CL15678484_QB23218013_REV01_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 with CRC32 B61AF7C2

Moreover, can somebody tell me what is the last firmware for which is availble the root?

p.s.:: excuse me for add the path link with "+", but firum platform don't allow me to write entire post for anti spam prevent.

Just install any stock firmware and update to the latest version.
Install TWRP via Odin.
Install Magisk via TWRP for root.

As an update for a stock rom is way faster then loading the whole firmware I'll only update the StockRoms if it suits me or there is a major update like a new Android version!

Hey there,
got a little noob question:

Are the different baseband versions independent from the different country codes of one model?
I mean, when looking on sammobile, it shows different baseband versions depending on the selected country code.

Thanks in advance for your help, much appreciated!

Hi @jaek, thank you for sharing with us such an important files. Please, could you give us a modem for sm-g965u1 a 7CSK1 version? I wanna try something with android 10 and it seems that a firmware with 7CSK1 is needed. My phone is already with 7csk2 and when i tried to flash android 10 beta for it, it failed because of that.
Thank you o much.

Hi @jaek, and so if it is possible, please, could you add an androidfilehost as mirror link for a modem for sm-g965u1 a 7CSK1 and a 7CSK2 version? The link in the OP just give a download speed of 2kb/s. Thank you so much

I added the CSK1 modem for U1-variant. If you need more then the modem from the rom, let me know soon.

Sorry to hear that you're downloading so slow. There is some restriction of the download speed at a few MBit/sec, but if it's that slow please just try at another time, when there isn't that much demand. I won't add any mirror.

Hello guys, I have SM-G965U1 and It's such a big pain, even impossible in my country to download roms from the link on the OP, nor googledrive nor sammobile nor via SamFirm... I tried many times to download via OP's link but always failed. Only androidfilehost works in our country without problems. I tried to find G965U1UEU7DTA5 online on androidfilehost but no way. So if someone could upload it on androidfilehost to have the official version of android 10 for SM-G965U1, that would be awesome and very kind of you.
Thank you guys.

Added new Android 10 (Q) StockRom for the F and U variant and updated the modem files.
Hi @jaeck, please could you also just add Bootloader, CSC of G965U1UEU7DZTA5? Actually I am stuck with android Q beta 3 for SM-G965U1, and i tried to download the new official Stock rom android q BUT ALWAYS FAILED WHATEVER THE SITEWEB I TRIED to download it, EVEN samFirm 0.41 failed, this software really sucks. I tried to flash the new modem TA5 that you added but nothing happened, it just stuck on file analysis....so maybe if i have just the bootloader and CSC of TA5 I'll be able to get it working with odin. So Because I couldn't download the all stock rom, i just wanna try those light files (BL, CP and CSC) of TA5. So please could you help me with this? Just those files.
Thank you so much.

Did you backup your EFS ? (need recovery/TWRP)
The EFS gets updated when chaning the modem firmware and could become incompatible with an older one
