Question Based on the Leaks, Would you upgrade to Samsung's Fold 5 or go with the Pixel Fold, or something else?

Based on what you see, what is the next foldable are you thinking of going with?

I wouldn't buy the Fold 5 but for sure the Fold 6. I'd rather go for the pixel since I want to experience the tensor chipset.

This told I am and would never be done with foldables, I'd just like a double screen device that is able to manage screens separately.

I've got the Vivo V fold. Unfoirtunately Chinese only rom., Oppo Find N the same. Great hardware but the software is lacking and too hard to use easily.
Thought I'd try the Techno Phantom V Fold. It's a butt load cheaper than the Samsung or any other foldable out there. Specs are decent and the reviews are pretty good. Seems to do everything the Z Fold does at 1/2 the price.
I also like the full size front screen. The Z Fold is just to narrow.

i'm going with the Pixel fold, mainly for aspect ratio when folded. that's very appealing to me vs. the Fold 4. i'm hoping there are no issues with the Pixel Fold. if there are issues, i'll stick with my Fold 4 for another year.

it has tho. better hinge, less crease, better DAC, better camera sensor, better display, better speaker and maybe even better battery
Better, better but how much better compare to F4? Visible better or only in my mind because this is newer device.
We need wait for unveild F5, first impressions and then consider change or not F4 to newer version.
Addition is question how much we need pay extra for this evolution but this is personal answer of course.

Conclusion I am too wait for unveild F5 :)

Yeah, waiting for final specs of the ZFold5 to see if it's worth upgrading. Reason why last August I upgraded from the ZFold3 to the 4, was about three weeks before the 1 yr warranty expired, the inner screen protector peeled along the crease, top to bottom. So Samsung gave me a place to take it to to get screen protector replaced, the girl didn't do a great job, had bubbles..........so when the 4 came out, pulled the trigger on the upgrade since Samsung offered $1000 trade-in.

I'm happy to stick with my Fold 4 for another year or two. The only thing that worries me is that I might open the interior display one day and have it crack on me. At the moment I have the Samsung accidental insurance but it expires when the device is one year old...

My Fold3 did that (not actually a crack) two or three weeks before the 1 yr was up. I opened it up, the inner screen protector peeled from top of the crease all the way down. I got in touch with Samsung and they made an appointment for me the next day at a place nearby to have the screen protector replaced, the girl didn't do a great job, had several small bubbles........so traded it in when the Fold4 came out.

Android in general is just terrible on folding phones and I find myself using the slim outside display more than I initially thought when I bought the phone and rarely use the inner display due to the constraints of Android.

If I can get PostmarketOS to run on the Pixel Fold (Unable to on modern Samsung - Qualcomm edition devices), that might make me consider it as the large screen would be able to run a full Linux desktop and the outer display will run a Linux phone UI.

Odd, I've only had my Fold 4 for a couple of weeks but I find the folding screen and what it can do in terms of multi-tasking and other features a revelation. As such I'd say I spend over 90% of my phone use with the screen open.

What part of the Fold 4's inner screen do you find terrible and constrained?

The first few weeks I enjoyed the tinkering as well, it initially is interesting simply for curiosity sake, but give it a few months and it gets boring.

I've had various mobile devices for 30 years, and I've had so many (check my signature) that I'm well past the stage of knowing what I will and will not eventually find boring. I can tell you that you're incorrect.

You didn't answer the question. What is it you find constrained and terrible?

Clearly you're someone that buys a product and gets childishly defensive when someone is critical of that same device.

Android on large screens is very limited compared to iPadOS, Windows, Linux, MacOS & ChromeOS.

Wait, what? I'm childishly defensive because, through curiosity, I asked for you to elaborate on your reasons to claim that something is terrible and constrained?

The farce is strong with this one.

I have the Fold 4 for almost a year now and still use the inner display 90% of the time, my Tab S7+ is now in a drawer.

If you wanted a bigger screen for the same usage thats not the right device.

I haven't made the plunge into this yet, but am a typical tech nerd who promises to God himself. He will keep a phone for more than 2 years this time because it's the one, only to be pre-ordering something 6 months later. I have a pixel 7 pro that I just got a warranty replacement for because of some dead pixels and part of me wants to leave it in the box. Sell it on swappa for as much as I can get out of it and ride out my microsoft surface duo one as a daily driver until this fall when the fold 5 comes out. I really miss the s pen stuff, the surface duo can't do it, nothing seems to be able to do it other than Samsung stuff and the idea of doing it on an unfolded tablet phone. Phone. It's pretty enticing. 23 ultra was pre-ordered but I canceled it the morning after pre-ordering. It. Seems like an amazing phone though. Not really sure what to do. It seems like you all are pretty Happy with your fold.

I had a Pixel 7 Pro before this. I liked the Pixel but to make it clear this is a massive upgrade in every way bar the camera. But the camera on the Fold is more than good enough for what I need.

I'm going to upgrade definitely. Snap 8.2 is better for battery. A little bit weight saving and a body - screens optimization are welcome too. Camera improvement. I don't expect Fold 5 to be something like a game changer. Because it is a market leader with a large margin. It must be clear that Samsung no need to make a revolution.

From the leaks it's a pass for me. Only reason I'll change my Fold4 is if the Spen gets its internal housing. Otherwise I'm quite happy with it
