Hi XDA friends,
When I backup my blu-rays, I create mkv files so I can watch them on my Nexus. Since I'm low on storage from games etc, I use a usb 3.0 thumb drive and a otg cable. Playback is fine, but battery life seems to tank dramatically. I can't even finish a 2 hour movie before the tablet dies from 100% charge. If I make room on the tablet itself, and play the movie from it directly, battery drain is much less. So watching via thumb drive and otg cable drains a lot more power? I'm mystified.
Thanks
