I was on IRC a couple of nights ago asking a simple question about battery stats when I get the bullshit answer from one of the community's finest.

Thanks to the other IRC member who was able to give a reasonable and respectable answer. I think it was Micellis.

Anyway, the whole battery situation on my phone has been like this: I flash whatever rom tickled my fancy and as long as things worked with a minimum of fuss and gave good battery life I would keep it on.

In the search for the good battery life I have flashed just about everything that was pretty much fully operational(still waiting for that Death Star build...) and came across only one that gave decent life. Superclean 2.6Voodoo.

For the sake of experimentation I proceeded on to 2.7.1V and 2.8V as well as DR1V and now DR2V. Since SC2.6V I have went back to bad battery life and I started checking Spare Parts for battery stats and noticed that my phone would flatline and 3,500ish mV. Apparently the phone should be kicking the bucket when it is around 3,000mV.

Now with DR2V I am back to what I feel is normal and the only thing I have done is do a full charge and run the bstats zip from Adrynalyn and the thing is using the battery in a much more miserly manner.

It still isn't accurately reporting yet as I am at 3,823mV at 56% after 4h:45m but under normal circumstances the battery would be at 25% right now and hit rock bottom come 3,500mV. The battery life is at a stand still when the screen is off and nothing being used which is an amazing thing to witness as it usually drops 10% an hour or more.

My hope is that after a few full charges and discharges the phone will start using what available battery is there and really kick up the mpg's.

For what it is worth, my battery is currently at 3595 mv at 3% remaining. It is at 36 hours of use including 4.5 hours of display on. I am running 2.1 DL09 though with no voodoo and no UV.

At least for me, it turns out that 3500ish mv is a perfectly acceptable reading for ending a decent day of battery life, so perhaps it is being misreported or there is more to the equation.

Swyped w/ XDA App. A clean tie attracts the soup of the day.
