I turned off finger print scanner and always on display and my screen on time has improved dramatically. I'm currently on 3 hrs SOT with 44% battery left. Previously I was getting around 3 to 3.5 hrs SOT maximum.

Here's a screenshot from later on in the day. I'm running auto brightness with battery saving location. I even have sync enabled for all google apps.

My H850 started acting up recently, was on V10d when almos all of a sudden battery life decreased a lot. Standby drain was almost 10% pr hour, so installed gsam, which could tell me that it is the kernel that is keeping the phone awake.
Probably going to try a hard reset on it, and see if that helps.

I got my lg g5 for a week now and I am not happy about battery life at all. Tonight I couldn't sleep so I was browsing internet on 0 screen brightness and battery was going down every few minutes. I have sync off, back up off, GPS off, not using any social app. I replaced my HTC one m8 (received as a replacement for the one I lost so cannot say it was brand new, could be refurbished) due to battery life and brand new lg is not any better. I have lost 2% writing this post on auto brightness... Bad, really bad

I am losing 1% of battery every 2 minutes while only reading a forum!!! Brightness 28?. On 3g but come on, i jumped only once between pages! Can you imagine how battery level goes down when playing a games or watching a YouTube? I'm disgusted

I had the same issue. I could not figure out what the problem was until I reflashed stock rom, rooted but without xposed framework and the modules. Then I noticed a big change in the battery life. SOT never went pass 2hr 30 and I had to charge 3 to 4 times a day. But now without xposed the SOT has improved 4hr 30min to 5hrs, unbelievable! But I miss xposed and my modules though. This is weird cos I don't think xposed should affect the battery life.

Posted this in another thread, but posting it here, also

As mentioned in other threads, the battery life can be really horrible on some handsets.
This seems to be caused by a wakelock that's named "anx_wlock", and information regarding this almost non-existent.
Tried rooting and installing different ROM's, that did not seem to help,
Read on some other forum that allegedly LG said it will be fixed with Nougat, so will just wait and see.

I used it now for 84 hours and 5 hours of screen on time on a single charge. I must admit that i was mostly connected to wifi and only used the phone for WhatsApp and browsing.

Settings turned off:
GPS
Bt
NFC
Fingerprint scanner
Always on display

Stuff still on:
Sync
Wifi

Brightness around 20-40% and no Xposed, greenify or other stuff

How is it possible ?

It's a very weird situation i'm encountering with my h850.
Before a week, i couldn't even imagine it was possible.
During IDLE, battery is consumed about 4-5% per hour. It gives almost 50% killed over a night.

The first problem of my device was the erratic behaviour of the power button.
One day, it stopped totaly working, as the fingerprint scanner (Option even disappear under "Parameter > Security & Fingerprint).
I ordered a new power button, open the phone, and replace the disfunctionning old power button.
Right after the replacement, Power button worked again !

However, i realise Fingerprint scanner option wasn't back, and while monitoring the phone, i noticed a battery drain (About 4% while IDLE)
I think that the battery drain started the day before i changed the power button, but i'm not sure.

I tried those workarounds, which didn't change anything for the fingerpint scanner and the battery drain :

I tried a factory reset => Google restauration.
Then Factory Reset, No Google Restauration
Then I unlock bootloader, install twrp, Wipe All and flash CM14.1
Went back to V10C, upgraded to V10I
Use Fastboot to erase completly system, cache and userdata, reflash V10E Zip
Use LG Bridge to test through KDZ Flash of the V10i.

Nothing give me the scanner fingerprint back, and my batterie still drain as 4% per Hour as IDLE (Even in Airplane Mode).

During my journey to solve my problem, i use GSAM, betterbatterystats, System Pannel trying to understand the root cause.
The phone go in deepsleep well. Android system and Kernel (Android OS) are the "causes" of the drain, but what can i do ? (Given GSAM)
The System_Server // SurfaceFlinge are two services consumming much (Given System Pannel).
AccuBattery says the capacity of the stock battery is the same as before (About 2400mah), so this isn't a hardware damage.
Stock battery use says that "Inactive phone" is drainning the battery.

I tried the opposite solution : Instead trying to understand what's going on, i tried to decrease the drain.
As root, i installed Greenify, and configured it as agressive as possible. It didn't solve anything.

I'm actually in V10i stock (Last version accessible in EU), no AOD, no Wifi, No stock Apps disabled.

If anybody has a suggestion for resolving my battery issue, i would be glad to hear.

Thanks fo reading.

EDIT : In the Hidden Service Menu, (*#546368#*850#), i see that the fingerprint test fails on "SPI" test. What is this ?

Yeah bought mine a couple days ago and really want to like and keep this phone, but the battery life is terrible. I turned off the AoD, that helped a little. I have the extra battery and stuff, but was never one to want to keep switching out. Not rooted so can't get good battery stats.

Maybe the phone is actively trying to get a "read" from fingerprint buton and therefore the battery drains faster.
BTW my G5 gets a pass on that test.

Hi Vader20.
Yeah, That's one of my idea too.
However, i don't have any clue to dig more deeply in this way.
Is there an Xposed module to desactivate some hardware ?

I suppose you already tried to disable fingerprint option from settings, so that leaves warranty the only option to fix your problem. Does your fingerprint reader work fine if used? Because it's going to fun explaining to the service center how your fingerprint doesn't work when in fact it does

In fact, i'm using Xposed + Amplify to try to debug my drain.

Using Device Control from Xposed shows that the fingerprint scanner is unacessible.
SPI stands for Serial Peripherical Interface. The failing test from the hidden menu should say the same thing as Device Control.

BetterBatteryStats shows a lot of wakelock and alarm from Google Services.
I'm trying to investigate a software cause of my drain.

It could be Greenify, but I have amazing battery life. I'm 24 hours on battery with SOT of 2:30 and still have 43% left. My G5 is 7 months old.

I also had a massive batterydrain, 3-4% per hour, even in airplane mode. Tried everything, root etc. Nothing helped. But it on the shelf waiting for nougat to be a miracle. Bought a cheap chinaphone, oukitel k6000 pro, 6000mah battery with amazing batterylife. 2% drain a night. Easy 2days of usage, sometimes 3days and with 10h of SoT. Smooth phone but a bad camera. Missing the camera of the G5 so I really hoping for nougat to fix that awful batterylife!

It probably won't get that battery life. The g5 has too many pixels a far more powerful processor which also needs more battery and the battery size is half the physical size of your Chinese phone.

Sorry to say that nougat won't overcome physical differences :/ it might be sightly better but definitely not 10 h of screen on time

Not expacting the same batterylife. Just that the drain stops.
It would be possible the get maybe 4hours of SoT if the drain would not be 4%/hour. Its like 20-25% an hour with screen on so with not a massive idle drain 4-5hours of screen is what the phone would perform. With my usage I got max 2,5h sot, sometimes as little as 1,5h. Almost never could make a whole day.

Totally right Molbor.
Our problem with the G5 isn't the SoT, it is the IDLE Drain.

Today, i tried something different : I completly disengaged Insystem Doze, and move to Greenify (+Xposed).
The result this evening !
