Not expacting the same batterylife. Just that the drain stops.
It would be possible the get maybe 4hours of SoT if the drain would not be 4%/hour. Its like 20-25% an hour with screen on so with not a massive idle drain 4-5hours of screen is what the phone would perform. With my usage I got max 2,5h sot, sometimes as little as 1,5h. Almost never could make a whole day.
Always on display drains ~1% per hour. I have a drain of about 1-2% per 3 hours. But I froze a lot of system apps and have nothing syncing besides GMail and Whatsapp.

I have the exact same drain - rooting and installing different ROM's did not help, drain still there. The name of the bugger is ANX_WLOCK, and there is nothing out there about it at all. So for now, just waiting for the N update to see if it fixes it (my hopes are not up..)

How many % do you lose per hour in IDLE ?
Apparently, N makes us losing TWRP. It's taking a great risk to upgrade before TWRP is present for G5/N.

How could a battery drain resist a flash ? Could it be caused by something in /firmware or in /sys ?

Right now, i'm working with the App "Disable Service" to try to find a culprit.

Right now I'm losing ca 5,6% an hour on standby, running a de-bloated stock ROM.
On CM I was up at almost 12% an hour, so stock has been fairer for the battery,

But how a drain can resist a flash is beyond me and my knowledge of this. I even tried to format everything except ext sd, which did not help either.

I think there must be some hardware fault with some phones. Heard so many have abnormal drain.
I've tried Everything. Diffrent roms, factory reset, greenify, amplify etc etc etc. There have to be something with the hardware.

Yeah, maybe it's an hardware fault.
But how could it be totally transparent from the operating system ?
Are there anys tools that would allow to troubleshoot an hardware issue ?
BTW, i tried yesterday evening Android N. That didn't solve the drain (Maybe it's worst than before)

I tried :
Stock 10c, 10e, 10i, 20a (KDR & TWRP zip)
Rom 14.1 & O3.
The result varies from 4% standby drain to 12%.

Tonight, i have reflashed the O3 ROM, with no LG bloatware. I add "force Doze" and GSAM.
I disabled thanks to "Hide Apps" every apps (System one included) i could.

The result tomorrow morning. If it totally solves the drain, i would try to re enable App per App.

I'm on 10i, root + busybox yesterday. Fully charged once, got 5.30hrs SoT on day 1. I'm super happy with it. Everything about the phone is awesome! I still miss by Nexus 5 but the G5 is a great successor :)

I have a very irritating and annoying battery drain problem that I haven't seen someone post about yet. This has been going on since I bought this phone in may.

Problem Description:

Everytime I charge my phone and unplug it, it never goes into deep sleep anymore.

From the battery usage, it just says "android system".

From 3rd party app "cpu spy plus", it says majority "time in state" is 307MHz.

Work around:

After charging, do the hassle of power cycling the device.

Looking at battery usage, "android system" is now replaced by "phone idle"

Looking at "cpu spy plus", majority "time in state" is now "deep sleep".

This is purely looking at standby time.

I have not been successful in isolating what is causing this behavior. No major steps taken yet like uninstalling apps, factory reset, etc etc..

Need inputs guys...

H860N, stock, has been happening continuously on every build/version which is currently V10m.

Have you tried rooting, and installing a different ROM, or just a factory reset?

I had severe battery drain after upgrading to Nougat . Seems like wifi is taking most as for me it was showing Phone Idle taking the most. I think i found a way to tackle it. Now its been 16hours regular usage starting yesterday night and still 50% remaining. Will update you all on the way how i got more battery standby.

I have changed again ROM to AME Nougat. ROM is stable and battery is ok but still have the drain and i found the issue is because of Wifi. If i switch off wifi there is no drain at all.

Any experts here can help me resolving this?

I remember my Galaxy S6 and my brother's Nexus 6P wouldn't go to deep sleep until we disabled Google Backup feature (the one that backs up app data, settings, etc.) and restarted the phone. Try that.

After upgrading to Nougat, my battery really took a hit, I've been averaging 4 hours and 40 minutes of SOT on MM, my max was 5 hours and 37 minutes. Now, I can barely get pass from 4 hours, but I'm still over 3 hours, it seems like the phone is having troubles to enter in deep sleep.
