Since i updated to official android Pie, i noticed the battery performance is changed, but unfortunately it's not changed to better but to the worst! Is everybody has this problem? or just me?
Before the final version of Android Pie released, i tried all the beta versions but i didn't get the battery problem.

My Battery life has gone for worse after installing P all fresh.. Battery life was good when i was on beta, once i moved to Final release of P and wiped everything for fresh start.. battery life been worse.. need to charge battery every 8-9 hours.. usage is same as i had earlier . I have even uninstalled many apps which were present on 8.1 and P beta...

Pretty disappointing.. Not sure if its only mine Pixel 2 XL.
we are on the same boat

I've been on official Pie (unrooted) since I upgraded Wednesday night. My battery life over the past two days is noticeably improved! I love Pie! Yum!

One thing I REALLY like about Pie is the significant improvement in the options presented after taking a screenshot. Huge thumbs up. Now I can doodle right there on the photo. Simple things excite me.

check to see if wifi or Bluetooth scanning is on. turn them off and make sure your location is always on cause the launcher constantly updates the weather app. also turn off Google sync u can just sync it manually. one last thing is to recalibrate your battery. fully charge it then use it till it turns itself off then without turning it on, fullycharge it unplug the charger turn your phone on see if the percentage bar says 100 if not turn it back off put it back on the charger then repeat. if it still doesn't say 100 then that's probably the max capacity your battery has. you should do the whole process again, I did, but I noticed I already had better battery after the first cycle.

Haven't done any measurement or careful observation but my anecdotal observation is that battery life for my 6 month old Pixel 2 XL is at least slightly better running Pie. I tell people who haven't owned a Pixel that the screen on time doesn't punish you like my previous LG G4 and Samsung Note 2 and Galaxy 4.

wait you're on 9.0 how did you get this theme to work. just got my pixel 2 xl yesterday rooted it but can't get substratum to work.
Are you using substratum 998? And, are you doing "build and update" when making your overlays, then rebooting, then enable them in substratum manager? Also, what theme are you using? Not all of them are Pie compatible.

After a factory reset a few day after updating to Pie(battery life was awful after the update) my battery life has been the same as it was on Oreo right before the update. Still noticeably worse that it was before the February, March and April updates. It's ok I'm most cases but certainly not great. For 80% of my days the battery life is more than good enough but for the other 20%(like an all day music festival I'm going to in October) I have to take a battery pack and cord in my pocket which sucks.
