Battery has been pretty good for me so far today:

~7 hrs unplugged

1.5 hrs screen on (according to Battery Stats)

Sitting at 67%. I was using the internet for at least 45 minutes and then spent 15 mins playing Angry Birds, as well as running 10-15 4G SpeedTest runs.

I'm pretty happy so far with the battery esp. since this is stock.

Awful battery life

Hello, I have had my phone since Saturday, and I don't think I have gotten more than 6-7 hours of standby yet. I pulled it off the charger this morning at 8, and by 2pm I was already down to 18%. I wasn't using it that much, maybe ~30 minutes of listening on winamp between classes and that's it. I get pretty decent reception everywhere and I don't have wifi or 4G on.

Any last suggestions before I take it back to Radioshack and exchange it for another one on account of a defective battery?

install spare parts and check out partial wake lock usage.

do you have twitter/facebook updating frequently? Can you provide a little more information so perhaps we can help trace the issue...

Thank you.

I have spare parts installed, and partial wake time is tied between winamp and android system. Under battery history (in spare parts), running is 43%, while screen is only 14.4%. I don't have facebook or twitter accounts linked.

I had to shut it off earlier today to conserve battery life, but the battery history lists uptime as 2:16:48, while awake time is 1:30:28. This suggests that something is constantly waking up. But the Android battery history lists winamp as only 2%, so I don't think that is what's waking it up all the time. Here, screen is listed as 77%.

Every thing seems about the same percentage wise as my old HTC Magic. I do suspect that the screen is turning on while it's in my pocket, because sometimes it gets warm.

Do you have Wireless sync on in WinAmp settings? I know on my Heroc, it would cause winamp to run in the bg and such. Worth a shot...
I'm getting pretty good life. My system seems to actually sleep with the screen off...

battery life is great for me. I average between 15-20 hours and that's with heavy usage. And no, I don't use any type of task killer. You shouldn't either...

Make sure you sync only the ones you use most. Either have it sync every 4-6 hours or do it manually.

4G: off
WIFI: off (when not in use)
Bluetooth: off (when not in use)
GPS off (when not in use)
Brightness: Auto
Mobile Network: On (tip: you could always turn off mobile network to save even more battery life. You will still get phone calls, SMS (no MMS), especially in places where you don't get good signals)

I use my phone a lot throughout the entire day. I surf a lot, check facebook a lot, check my email every 30 minutes, text a ton and I played Gun Bros a little bit. I'm at 45% battery life right now. I charged it to 97%.

Voice calls 54% 1h 12m 39s

Display 26% Time on 1h 9m 19s

Maps 11% CPU total 1m 10s CPU foreground 40s GPS 15m 58s Data sent 87.16KB Data received 466.82 KB

Cell Standby 4% Time on 8h 37m 8s Time without signal 2%

Phone idle 3%

Android System 2%

I had bluetooth on the entire time and 4g as well. I might get better battery life if I turn off 4g when I'm not using it.

Is everybody on auto-brightness still? After doing a hard reset with Profile+PRL updates everything is fine and dandy with the battery life now! She's a keeper!
