guys, i am using htc one m8 single sim... and few weeks ago i find the battery been stuck sometimes in some number like 99% and it keeps going on for hours in 99% like 4-6 hours and then battery dies. it wont even gimme a sign that it is about to die. also sometimes after charging the homescreen may be changed and loaded with bloatware home short cuts. i am not using a htc quick charge 2.0 instead i use a itian qualcom certified 2.0 charger. i used many chargers 2.0 quick still it doesnt show any advance. also the charging is poor i might get from 2% to 3% in 2 hours or 1hours... but with that 3% it goes working for 5 or 6 hours... what should i do?? is it a firmware fault or hardware one?? should i try resetting it with an older kitkat coz its running on mashmellow..:confused::confused:

Try holding power + vol up + vol down until the phone reboots. This recalibrates the battery meter, so hopefully that will help.

Beyond that, it's tough to know whether it's a hardware or software issue. Factory reset, or flashing RUU (if you version has an RUU) might help. But I don't personally advocate going back to KitKat. Marshmallow isn't the problem (not in itself). I've been running MM on my M8 for a long time, with no such battery issues.
