I know battery saver apps are fairly popular on phones. For a long time, I used Juice Defender Ultimate on my phones. I have since switched to GreenPower Premiere. I think these apps do a fairly good job but I have not been able to determine whether they are more effective than the stock battery manager / saver included in ICS. Any thoughts on that? What about the "battery saver" included with Norton Utilities Mobile?

More importantly, do you use a battery saver app on your TF300 or other tablet? I have never tried it but I would like to find a few solutions that will extend my battery life so I don't have to worry about charging all the time. Admittedly, I have several chargers (home, work, and a spare to take with me wherever) but I would like to maximize my battery life so I am not constantly looking for an outlet.

Let me know your thoughts and opinions. Gracie!

Personally, I stay away from them too. You can take a few seconds and do what most of them do yourself. Then you don't have to worry about the battery saver app pulling unneeded juice. Just get in the habit of disabling features you don't need when you're not using them.

I guess they would help out a person who doesn't know their way around the tablet and its settings or is just lazy. lol :D

nah

have tried them all. I think it's a conundrum. the juice these apps "save" is wasted on the cpu cycles needed to keep 'em alive.

What i do: i use battery mix app, identify the culprit and castrate it's permissions. Pretty good battery life so far on every device

How to "Greenify" System Apps

For that you will need xposed framework on your device. If you buy the paid app for Greenify. It comes with an option known as " Experimental Features". Select that, in the settings you will find an option known as "Greenify System Apps". You can enable that, and other features once you have followed what the app "Greenify" ask you to do, such as enabling modules etc. Good luck, hopefully I helped.
