are all the ne versions rgb delta? or are they the same lottery luck with the old 5g model with some being pentile and other rgb delta???

We don't know yet. As for now I haven't seen opinion that NE has any other display than RGB Delta.

We have to wait for more opinions to find out.

PS. My girlfriend's phone has Delta RGB and looking at that even for a while makes my eyes hurt. She... just doesn't care and accepts it. On the other hand she is supposed to wear glasses. :D

I apparently have a Huaxing/Pentile slab and I don't find the consumption excessive.

Before I had the Mi 9 lite, and I immediately saw a difference in screen quality. It's hard to describe the difference, it's subtle, but very visible for someone who is used to an Amoled screen.
For me it's as if the Mi 11 lite 5G had a little lack of contrast and sharpness.
My former phone was also a Mi 9 Lite and I can clearly state that beside everything else the screen was a noticeable downgrade.

One reason can be cost cutting, another reason could be phone thickness. Not sure if that's the case but maybe there are differences between displays in terms of thickness. Thinner display could be less capable in general.

dang haha was actually thinking of getting the ne but after hearing this i think i'll pass

ps. i haven't seen any reviewers mention anything about the display so i believe they were sent pentile ones while the consumer versions are delta ones. pretty scummy ngl

Gizmochina found out about two display versions in Mi 11 Lite 5G. Then they reviewed NE and don't even mention about two versions so... NE has only Delta RGB apparently.

With Huaxing it's a really nice phone, unique thanks to its weight and it's only phone with Snap 780G so another "unique" feature but it doesn't mean it's better than 778 (offering better efficiency) but might be a sweet spot if you also want to play on phone (778 suffers with clearly worse GPU performance, like 30%). MIUI 12.5 Enhanced will fix some issues for sure and more or less 2 years software support should guarantee enough time until another 155 g phone appears.

People who used to 200 g phones don't even imagine how big game changer is almost 50 go less in hand especially if they use their phones a lot.

Has anyone ordered a 11 lite 5g from Xiaomi UK recently and received the Huaxing?

I feel like trying one at last. Currently have a Poco X3 Pro and the weight is annoying.

Are there newer Tianma that are better now?

I have preordered the 5g NE and should recieve it in 2 days and was checking xda threads for it
Then i found this thread which is really frustrating :(
This is beside seeing the fingerprint sensor that gets faulty on some units ( the non NE for now )
there is no other device with its value for money and the power effeciency of SD778 ( i am not a gamer )
Should i target the 128GB instead of the 256GB to cut some cost since the device is already a risky one ?

I think I am going to pull the trigger on an original. They are £309 on Amazon at the moment. If the screen is crap I'll send it back.

Amazon Germany is doing a NE 6GB version for £270. Seems all the NE have delta screens. I think I'm going to pick up two originals from Amazon. A green and a black. I prefer black and if that has Huaxing I'll keep and send back the green. If black is delta I'll try green and cross my fingers.

Would be great to see comparison side by side old Tianma - new Tianma - Huaxing. My gf has old Tianma and she doesn't care but she's a bit blind (and lost her prescribed glasses in train in the first week of use, LOL).

Here's a comparison I found with pictures here is its of any help.

So we're looking at ~267ppi (Tianma - Delta) vs 318ppi (Huaxing - Diamond) for this phone.

I think the NE has a newer version of the Tianma display.

I had both the Mi 11 Lite 5G and the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE at home and were able to compare them. The NE (K9D 36 02 0a) had the better display although it was both a Tianma display. Maybe they changed something after all

    Mi 11 Lite 5G NE = K9D 36 02 0a
Mi 11 Lite 5G = K9 36 02 0a (I think it was this number unfortunately no longer have the screenshot)

    which disply is this?
Looks like the Tianma revision. Is it an NE version?

Up to you. If it isn't shipped or is easy to return, you can take a a chance (for non NE version). Else you could cancel and look into alternatives like a Samsung A52S 5G or something.. which is guaranteed a quality in-house Samsung panel which doesn't involve lottery.

I'm deliberating but I think I will end up keeping my Black NE since I'm not confident in Amazon France's customer service, the couriers involved and risk of international shipping and costs (and returns). Live and learn I guess. Though if you got it for a good price - I paid £250 for mine, then I would say its worth it.
first I ordered because it was like black Friday deal and it's cost me 260eur and comes with mi band 6... but I am concerned about display this will be Europe version also does camera sucks like someone says? thanks man you will help me a lot ☺️

I bought a mi 11 lite 5G a few days ago, and it's a great phone. On the other hand, I thought the screen was not great, I felt like everything was blurry compared to my old Samsung A5 2016 (also having a 1080p amoled).

After asking around on Reddit, it looks like Xiaomi is using two different screen suppliers, with two different technologies.
The video below explains it perfectly well.

So it is possible to come across a "PenTile" (or diamond) screen, a classic for AMOLED, or else a "RGB Delta" screen.

The problem with the "RGB Delta" is that it is not as sharp as a "PenTile" because of its pixel layout. We can clearly see a drop in terms of definition and display sharpness. It is especially visible on the text (see photo below, Rgb Delta on the right)

I'm really disappointed with Xiaomi, either you get a good screen or a not so good one... I tried to contact the support to have more information, but without more.

Ok,I can't take better pictures with Iphone 8.Tianma display is 30% brighter and colour calibration is different and more yellowish(in the reality they are not yellow as on those black and white theme dialer pictures but they are still slightly different). Both displays are crisp and clear and I'm sorry I don't have a better camera to take a picture of it.Here are the pics...

    GOT HUAXING! YES!

FOURTH phone. Green Mint from Xiaomi UK. Difference is DAY AND NIGHT.

I consider this display clearer than Redmi Note 8 Pro while Tianma is clearly the worst performer. What an absolute joke. I wasn't convinced that difference is there but after displays side by side showed by one user I knew I couldn't go wrong with this last gamble.

Hi. I got Mi 11 Lite 5G from Vodafone in UK. Black colour. Display is absolute disaster. Clarity is like in cheap phone 7 years ago. Additionally this display uses 3.8 TIMES more mAh in auto brightness then IPS in my Redmi Note 8 Pro causing much faster battery drain. It was in 90 Hz but now I'm testing in 60 Hz and it will be approximately around double what RM8 Pro needs for display.

This is absolute joke Xiaomi. They sent reviewers good phones and scamming customers with cheap junk displays.

For that reason I can't see any other choice than return this phone. I was so excited because of lightweightness and there we go... I feel Xiaomi scammed me. This is nowhere premium or midrange display. This is cheapest of the cheapest AMOLED. RN8 Pro IPS feels like Lamborghini compared to that junk. Mi Lite 5G screen is so unclear it causes huge discomfort for my eyes.

    Thanks for this thread.
