@lost101 :
No changes ... it's as if nothing changed despite executing those commands.
I'll try flashing system.img again.
Also, tried flashing stock Kitkat but got a message from bootloader - validation failed.
I assume this might happen since downgrade requires an unlocked bootloader.

Would like to know :
I am planning to try and go for data recovery after unlocking bootloader and using this guide as reference.
[GUIDE] Internal Memory Data Recovery - Yes We Can!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-internal-memory-data-recovery-yes-t1994705

a)What's the first thing i can do after unlocking the bootloader?
install custom recovery?which one?
I've come across
a)Clockwork Mod
b)Philz's touch
c)TWRP

b)would you suggest flashing it with Kitkat or Lollipop?
c)What's a good way to root it so that the erased partition will have limited overwrites so that recovery can be better.
d)Anything else i can do to ensure that data recovery would be easier - any softwares, links, etc.
Hi,
I am also having same issue with Moto G, Tried to flash both CWM & TWRP recovery. But no luck still it is going in Android recovery

Unlock Bootloader not cause internal problems like this , it was probably something else
For example, on my Moto G 2014 ROOT By TWRP Cause bootloop only works by downloading the Zip upgraded Chainfire .

I was with a MOTO G 2013 but did **** Clean IMEI , so I am with this now.

It would be better to have cleaned and Data Cache because data corpses cause problems arising from Flash / Update
And always use updated versions and ACCURATE for the device includes Recovery and Kernel
Flashing something wrong can make the device into a paper weight .

Try to download the latest TWRP to the device ,

Stock flash the firmware , and aways Clean DATA / Factory Reset

No Command Its normal for this device (IS IN STOCK Motorola Recovery)
"Android 4.4 KitKat and above:
Press and hold the Volume Down button for 15-20 seconds, while holding the button, press and release the Power Button. You should now see the Recovery options pop up.

Android 5.0 Lollipop and above:
Press and hold the Power Button for 2-5 seconds, while holding it, press and release the Volume Up button. You should now be seeing all the Recovery options."

The problem here is that even when fastboot is reporting succesful recovery flashing, its not flashing the custom recovery. Currently I have a phone with the same problem, and I don't know if there's a way to solve it. The phone got 0% battery and turned off, when it got 40% tried to use it again and got stuck at boot animation.

After unlocking the bootloader and rebooting, I've tried to flash multiple custom recoveries. After flashing one and without rebooting I go to recovery mode, but the stock recovery appears instead.

"Well I should flash the complete stock 5.0.2 ROM again"
NOPE, even when all the mfastboot commands reports "SUCCESS", it gets stuck at unlocked bootloader warning (boot animation doesn't even appear, tried with BR, US and AR images for XT1032, each one downloaded twice.)

"Well I should flash a custom recovery and then flash Cyanogenmod or another custom ROM+gapps"
NOPE, no custom recovery can be flashed, it always boots to stock recovery. Tried with Philz, CWM and TWRP.

This happens using the default mfastboot (donwloaded from two places) over Windows 7/8. Its ****ing strange.

even tried to replace the bootloader unlocked warning logo with another one using mfastboot flash logo logofixed.bin fastboot reports SUCCESS but the bootloader warning its still there.

Hello guys,

I had the same issue, I managed to unlock bootloader, I can access the recovery menu from "no command" screen but after I finish the recovery steps, my phone plays the start animation and enters in the same blank screen.
Can you help me please @lost101 ?

@lost101 Thank you!
My phone is Moto G X1033 (most probably ASIA vers.)

I've downloaded KK stock, Retail Asia 4.4.4 Stock ROM (Untouched) (460mb) in .zip format from here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-rom-collection-t2854688

and All-in-One ADB version from here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979

I should unzip the ROM and put it on ADB folder?

I've got this:
C:\adb>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (10446 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.369s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image size exeeded partition limits
(bootloader) image size exceeds limit
(bootloader) Failed to flash partition recovery
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.403s

Now, I managed to flash a custom recovery but i got this:
C:\adb>mfastboot flash recovery recovery.img
target max-sparse-size: 256MB
sending 'recovery' (10014 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.330s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.176s]
finished. total time: 0.509s

On the phone I have the message in purple color:
Mismatched partition size (recovery)

But I end up in the stock recovery, not in the custom one.

I did, but still no custom recovery. I only can access the stock recovery, the dead android laying on the back. I must do another step to acces the custom one?

Can be a problem with the partitions? If yes, how can be resolved?

Sounds like you have corrupt emmc. No known solution as far as I know.

The following command will get you into custom recovery:
mfastboot boot recovery.img

Now I've managed to enter in custom recovery (twrp-2.8.7.0.-falcon_STOCK_NOTHEME.img)

How can i flash this rom?
XT1033_FALCON_ASIA_DS_5.1_LPB23.13-56_cid7_CFC.xml.zip
from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/index-moto-g-falcon-factory-firmware-t3110795

Is OK or I should try another one?
That's a FASTBOOT Factory Firmware Image. Those 'images' can only be flashed in Fastboot mode.

Fastboot flashing Tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219

Custom Recovery Flashable ROM zips are available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-lollipop-rom-t3017510
