regarding the play books widget, what do you find useful about it? all i see are my books in a stack that i can thumb through. doesn't seem useful at all to me, unless i were reading a dozen books at a time and needed a quick way to scroll through them. even then i'd probably just open the app and use the "recent" tab.I highly recommend Google Play Books for epubs as well. It is very nice looking, smooth, and the sync feature is great. I also LOVE the look of the widget, it is the centerpiece of my home screen. My only complaint is no support for my comics in cbr format, and also it seems that pdf pages (both pdf books and cbr->pdf conversions) load rather slowly at times.
But if you will solely be using epub, you can't go wrong here. You may have problems uploading converted epubs though.
Play Books does support uploading PDFsI ended up buying Moon Reader+. But I'm so impressed by the PlayBooks app's slick effects and implementation, that I may just try importing EPUBs to it. I'm guessing it won't support PDFs.

takes a few seconds for meJust started using Play Books as suggested in this thread, primarily because of the syncing feature. Does anyone know how long it takes to actually get your progress saved on one device such that you see it on another? Or what actually activates the syncing?
For example, if I'm on page 100 on my Nexus7 and I read 5 pages, and then open the same book on my phone immediately, will it open up to page 105? I did this exact operation (with diff page numbers) last night, and this morning my phone still hasn't synced to the page I read up to on the n7 for some reason.
Just use the kindle app and email your epubs to your kindle email. Then they're stored on the cloud and you can grab them from any device and have your location syncedJust started using Play Books as suggested in this thread, primarily because of the syncing feature.
