It's here. I showed this to the rep and he agreed Sprint also receives $100 gift card. I was unable to upgrade for unrelated reasons, however, so I can't confirm that he would have eventually actually given me the gift card. But he was convinced.

However, I'm doing the $150 *cash* bonus on trading in old smartphone via Sprint directly instead. For some reason they're also taking off $15/month for switching to the installments, so once I trade in the old phone it'll be like they paid me $44 over the next two years to have upgraded.

I initially went through Sprint then canceled pre-order since the $150 trade-in credit is not applicable to 2 year contracts, only monthly installments. I cannot switch to monthly installments since I have other lines on existing contracts.

Interesting. Yeah the whole process has been fascinating. I have a bit less than a year left on my contract and my other line has about 18 months left but they let me switch to installments nevertheless. Honestly the whole story is fascinating (it involves getting an awesome BB-only plan, then returning the phone, then being told I can't switch to another phone, so leaving BB, but still with a great plan, then being able to upgrade via Sprint.com with an awesome additional discount that no one seems to know about and that might be a phantom).

i went into a best buy on sat and they had 1 g5. not one person knew anything about the phone. all the staff kept saying how ugly and stupid the phone was and only bashed it. Funny they had nothing but bad things to say and not a single person had even used the phone... I have been doing much research and the intranet has much of the same. Nothing but negativity or pre-release reviews that don't give this phone any justice.

Totally my experience at well. They were *shocked* that I was giving back an iphone (6s+) and even more shocked that I was going for the LG. I would say that they are being paid to be biased if they weren't so incompetent overall. Each interaction with them takes 90+ minutes.

I have at&t and purchased from best buy , it's a $100 best buy gift card that I got right away. Still havent found anything useful to buy as of yet from there.

I asked about this and they said it is only for activation of a new contract. I buy my phones out right and go on the gophone plan for AT&T.

Can you confirm if it was for a new contract or did you buy the phone out right?

Show them this (IF you're on installments). Might be worth switching to installments for the gift card, also (assuming the same total price and the time value of money).

I'm on the GoPhone plan. I pay $55/mo with almost every single benefit as the full plan which is $85/mo. Cons are that I can't use the phone when traveling internationally and MicroCell. Savings across 24 months is $720, I think i'll stick with the GoPhone plan and buy my phone out right. (If I made a mistake here please correct me, I'm all about saving $$$)

I'm on the GoPhone plan. I pay $55/mo with almost every single benefit as the full plan which is $85/mo. Cons are that I can't use the phone when traveling internationally and MicroCell. Savings across 24 months is $720, I think i'll stick with the GoPhone plan and buy my phone out right. (If I made a mistake here please correct me, I'm all about saving $$$)

All depends. I'm paying $50/month for 25 GB and $15/month for the line itself. But getting the installment plan is somehow removing $15 from my monthly plan so it should be $50 all-in for the plan and of course the installment pricing of $24/month. So not too shabby. But yeah, one day I'll probably go Project Fi.

Did anyone preorder online? I preordered my upgrade for att of course it was delayed. The external battery pack and such arrive last week but lucky me it does not work so they are sending me out a replacement once they get them back in stock...anyways I finally got the phone today but got no physical gift card...I asked them about this as well and they said I should receive a "gift card" via email within 4 hours of activating the device...does that sound right to anyone? I haven't received anything yet...

Just thought I'd let everyone know that Best Buy does have the Battery Cradle, Extra Battery and Adapter, in stock...

They just aren't aware of it and they're pretty hard to miss in plain white envelopes. The Sku Code is #5067600. If anything, be sure to mention it to them.

I walked out with my phone, cradle, extra battery and adapter without having to wait for it to ship.
