I am also looking for a car mount. I will be going for air vent mount, due to temperatures and wont block the road. Can some one suggest good air vent mount ? I am also looking for car charger, which is best in terms of power delivery ? Is the HTC car charger CC C200 any good ? Or is there any special one for Desire HD from HTC ?
For power I use http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-in-1...-usb-car-charger-for-cell-phones-dc-12v-47130
I don't understand the bad comments in the reviews below it since I have ordered 6 and all working perfectly. Only thing is that you can't tow your car with the wire.

For the holder I would definitaly go for HR. But please do yourself a favour and buy the expensive models. The quality of the plastic is important.
This is a nice example. http://www.ebay.de/itm/HR-KFZ-Halte...=DE_Handy_PDA_Halterungen&hash=item27bda6c0b2
Since I switch phones this one does most of them and feelt solid.

And since you need to put it on the vent of the car, please only original ones.
I have had the misfortune to have an el-cheapo and the plastic broke and went inside of the vent. That was no fun on getting it out.
You will need this part to go with the above one

The best air vent mount IMO is the Brodit ProClip and Holders, search under the PDA HOLDER,

It come in two parts the Vent clip for Vehicle Make and Model, left or right hand drive, and the Holder with or without a charger.

They also do a Brodit Charging Cable.

Take Care

This is the one I bought at end of last year. I always like to go with the original manufacturers accessories when possible!

Only problem I've had is that the cigarette USB charger is not a great fit in my car (Saab) but think it's just me. Fits fine in parents' Ford S-Max.

Very solid holder in my opinion. Apparently it can be 'stuck' onto dashboard using the suction cup, however I haven't tried this yet. Also the provided cable automatically puts the phone into Car Mode when inserted.

I agree,
Windcreen mounts tend to get in your way and i find they fall of often..
vent mounts block the vent, but they are usually at a good angle

for me the clingo car holder universal is the best
No!!!!!

I thought exactly the same, until a few weeks later and it started leaving sticky crap all over my phone. Which is a right pain to clean off. Although getting a refund wasn't any trouble as it isn't fit for purpose (their USP is that it doesn't leave a sticky mess on the phone.)

Get an Exomount. Very sturdy, stick it almost anywhere (and this doesn't leave any horrible mess on anything), even to dry wall if you really want. And like said before you could also mount your tablet, and/or use this as a vent phone holder, or car parking ticket holder lol.

HTC one works great for me. You are unable to have any skin on the phone or it will not fit.

I have two mounts.

First is a Brodit that clamps over the airvent in the dash and I use this everyday. It wasn't the cheapest, but works really great and is well designed - I can rotate into landscape for navigation without having to loosen anything and there is no vibration/shaking with it. The good thing about the Brodit mounts is that it comes in two parts. The first is a non-impacting mount point designed for the car and the second is a fitting for the phone. If you change the phone or the car... all you need to get is one new piece.

For travel I bought a generic expandable grip holder that mounts on the windscreen. The reason is because I use an otterbox commuter when travelling and is fits really well. The image is below, however I normally fit it so it rests on the dashboard as there is a slight shake from it.
