At $700+ I'd rather have one thing less to worry about than a cracked unit from a fall. Never been a fan of plain tpu covers.
I have seen phones cracking even with defender cases on. I put a hard case while indoors and then switch to a clear tpu one whenever I want to show off my $$$ investment.

People still show off their phones??? LOL.... I mean everyone's got one nowadays even high school students and soccer moms. It was a lot different when I stood in line to buy a iPhone3 on launch day.

My mom had the defender on her htc. She actually drove with it about 1.5 miles before it fell off the top of the car unto a very busy 6 lane road. One of the major roads. She turned around to get it and it was obvious someone ran over it with a car. Only the case was broken. The phone was fine.

Another time she got about 1 mile and it flew off the top of the car when she turned at a light. scratches on the case, nothing more.

I cant believe that I am saying this but I feel the included case is good enough. It preserves the asthetics of the phone while giving it an acceptable level of protection.

Many ppl stick to their old phones and very few upgrade to the latest flagships. Samsung Phones always got attention and some even thought that my s7 edge is an s8. We can't expect everyone to be smartphone literate ;)

Sure, if a phone hits hard enough, and in just the right spot, nothing will keep it from cracking. A case won't help if your screen impacts directly. But a decent case can GREATLY reduce the risk.

Hey guys, I just ordered my S9 I just read above that there's a case included? I've been looking at spigen cases, that's what I was using for my S7 Edge might go with it still.

I just bought the original Samsung Alcantara Case and I love it. It's touch is absolutely Premium and perfect. Really can recomend it although it is not the cheapest one ;)

I have the LED case for my S9 (the blue one) and...it's still in my drawer. I've put it on the phone, played with it for some time and checked the notifications, was cool that they now include the color on the bottom animated line (below the actual notification sign). I also liked the grip (feels like a fabric/cloth) but in the end I've tossed it away...this phone looks so awesome to ruin the aspect. At least for now, I'm looking for the slimest, clear looking case I can get, I've seen a top 10 clear cases review and I might go for an ESR case. Maybe in the future I'll return for the LED cover and take it out from dust

EDIT: I found the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case and I'll give it a try. Reviews for older phone models say that Spigen made a second version/iteration of this case, to stop it becoming yellowish. I guess the S9 one is the same cause it was just launched

Earlier today I've received my Samsung Alcantara back cover. It was 49 euro (directly from Orange) and I bought it with a 50 euro voucher (a gift for pre-ordering the phone). I didn't expect to like it so much, but the contrast between the suede like material and glossy black is rather nice. Of course it fits perfectly and it has very tactile buttons. But I would have never paid 49 euro for it with my own money, it's too expensive for it is! :)

PS: The phone also came with another gift: a Samsung bluetooth speaker called Scoop. Don't bother buying it separately, the mids are almost non-existent. It is mushy and has too much bass. My Anker portable BT speaker is much, much better than this one and it's about the same price.

Indeed, it's nice but pricey. I'm looking at it right now

How much did you pay for it, btw? On Samsung Canada website I see -21$ discount.

You should have had also 1 year free of premium inssurance for the phone, it should be written on that flyer you got with the box

RhinoShield SolidSuit + Whitestone Dome Glass

Has anyone preorder the RhinoShield SolidSuit S9 case? If so, would it be compatible with the whitestone dome glass?

I've contracted rhinoshield about their case compatibility. They responded with a bullshit answer especially when the case hasn't been released as of 3/15/2018. When I emailed them, I've explained my situation, provided links, youtube, & pictures to help them understand.

This was Rhinoshield Response:
"According to our user experiences, Samsung S9 case is not compatible with any brands edge to edge screen protector.

You can consider our screen protector for Galaxy S9:

...business marketing bullshit....
