I'm using the latest Fu24 version. Although it's 6.1 it works flawless, it have enough options to configure it, xml support and works with slowmo and night sight, it also have some manual focus modes (inf, macro, 2m, selfie if I remember). For time lapse, astro and as a second camera I would suggest using the latest from the_dise, it is not feature rich yet but it is almost stock 7.2 and it also work flawless, 60fps video recording (in Fu24's also), time lapse, slowmo (freezes or crashes sometimes, a workaround is to configure video recording first at 30fpa), night sight, astro, portrait and all that stuff. Having both cameras installed I can cover all my needs, they can be installed simultaneously due to having different package names. Also you can use latest parrot's but just for photos, other things may or may not crash.

Remember to clear app data before starting the gcam to prevent issues if you have installed / uninstalled previous gcams. I tried both gcams in miui 11.0.4.0.
I have tested several Gcam but there is a problem with each one so I have questions
1. Is there a GCam version using a macro lens?
2. Is there a GCam version using a wide lens in video recordings?
3. Is there a GCam version in which photos with wide lenses can be set 16: 9?
4. Is there a GCam version in which I can set a different resolution for each lens?
5. Is there a GCam version where I can set 1080p for slow motion? Even on RN4x I could use Slow motion to record in 1080p (120fps in Snapdargon camera)
6. How can I force the phone to install several GCam applications? Each time GCam wants to update the previous one and I need to uninstall it

None of them can record video in a wide lens, use a macro lens, etc., as I mentioned earlier. That's why I'm asking
OK, as far as I know the best for using wide and macro for now is the stock miui cam, some gcams have access to the aux lenses using root but I haven't tried them yet. You can also join the Ginkgo photography group on Telegram as there is many people trying and suggesting gcams and maybe someone have found one working with aux lenses.
We are using GCAM optimized for Redmi Note 7. It works because HW between 7 and 8 are very similar, maybe if someone is capable to work specifically for our device we will have a good GCAM with more option designed for our quad camera phone..
Hi, I installed a Gcam on redmi note 8 and I see that the macro, bocked and wide cameras do not work. That is, only the main camera works and the other 3 cameras do not work. It's a shame that the phone's stock camera saturates the photos a lot.
Any Gcam that works with the 4 cameras of the redmi note 8?

There is a video in youtube with a link to a working gcam with ultrawide and macro support. However, the SElinux has to be in permissive mode so you can access the cameras. Also the ultrawide only seems to save 2mp photos and I havent found a fix for that yet ?
Quick question. I've set the default camera app to Gcam, but when i do the double press of power button it continues to open the stock camera app. Why is that ?

you can use the version for the Note 8, it's practically the same phone. The V13 HDR one works perfectly on 8T
