What is the best performing ROM for the 8GB Nook Tablet? I'm looking for most snappy navigating the interface, fastest loading of apps, quickest to download updates, best usage of the WiFi, and most stable.

I have CM11 M9 installed on my 8GB Nook Tablet and it is sluggish. I noticed that as soon as I turn on my WiFi, the system begins to crawl and I have to wait about 15-20 minutes before the interface is stable and responsive.

I've used CM7 on a SD card and liked it, but of course I was limited to the bus speeds of the SD card (SanDisk 16GB Class 6). The other concern with older CM builds is app support by Google Play.

Any recommendations are welcome.

I'm using this one (but mine is a 16 GB, you'll have to check if this is compatible)

For a NT it seems pretty snappy, very reliable as well. Installing internally was dead easy. Gave the old nook a new life (I had tried CM7 on NC but found it quite unstable). As long as you dont load up too many widgets, works great. Install Chrome for a browser, the stock browser is dead slow.

Hi did you ever get your 8gb answer? My rooted stock 8gb NT is now crashing. I tried a JB SD ROM from a Sandisk class 4 and it is too sluggish. Ideal candidate I think would be an ICS or aJB slim ROM designed for EMMC internal in the limited RAM memory of this version. I'd like to use it for Chromecasting, and some of those apps just wont run on GB.

What's frustrating is my kid is running JB off an SD on a Nook Color, no problem.

The threads here have too many warnings on bricking for me to experiment with 16gb based ROMs. Help!

Thank you.

You might want try Succulent's CM10.0 dated 12/31/12 -- see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2572987. It should work on both 8GB and 16GB, and you can try out the SD-based build (cm-10-20121231-NOOKTABLET-acclaim-HD-SDC-img.rar) before deciding whether to install the internal EMMC version. Both versions can be found at http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/.

I am currently using the stock ROM, rooted with All Wertz' rooting method. It seems faster than cm11. Also tried cm7.2 and found that to be good too.
My wife insisted on something that would run candy crush smoothly, and I think the rooted stock does that reasonably well.
Hope that helps
