The only place to buy one locally here (Mendocino County, Northwestern California) is at Staples in Ukiah, about 10 miles south of me, they have them in stock for $399.99 (plus Tax).

We don't have Best Buy up here, the nearest one is in Santa Rosa, 70 miles south of me. I got mine from Amazon for $390 and no tax (Plus $3.99 for Prime 1 Day shipping) last week. Walmart here doesn't carry anything Asus but laptops, they do carry tablets from Acer, Nook, Kindle and Apple though.

Edit-Walmart does sell them online though-

Got my 32GB TF300 from newegg.com $399 minus $20 bill me later promo with 6 moths no interest leaves plenty of time to pay it off. So $379 with no tax free shipping & no gas costs driving to/from the store either.

Got the keyboard for $118 at provantage.com with $6 shipping & no tax.

do you think i should wait till the transformer infinity be released before buying this tf300 tab ? In terms of price i mean ;-)
Can we expect a 100$ discount so it would start at 299$ with no keyboard ?
I wouldn't expect a $100 drop. Technically this is the economy or budget model and the tf700 is the performance model. I would personally be surprised to see any drop, but if there was a drop I would assume no more than $50.

I read something a little while ago that says July. The TF700 will be a premium tablet though. Metal body and 1080p screen. It replaces the TF Prime, so I think it will be at least $100 more than the TF300. I wouldn't expect much (if any) price drop on the TF300 when the TF700 is released.

however, there should be a decent price drop on the Transformer Prime when the TF700 comes out. But we all know about the prime's issues.

i missed out on them at microcenter in dallas, they sold out. but if you think about it, it's $379 after taxes there. amazon has it for $385 occasionally (including right now), and an ebay seller always has it for $397. i'd say if you are getting it for less than $400 you are doing well, and there are plenty of avenues to get it at that price. what's another $18 saved on a $400 item anyway? that's like 2 days worth of gas for me.

Hi Folks,

I'm in Scotland, but my better half is in the states at the moment on holiday and can pick this up with the dock for $450 (BestBuy) (So just under £300)

I can get same here retail for £400 - would appreciate feedback on whether the 25% cost saving is worth having no after sales comeback

Really appreciate any guidance as in a total conundrum!
