So I made the switch to Nougat and gave up xposed. I'm looking for a rom with customization, good battery life and one that supports dash charging. I was using aosp extended for a little bit but I had so many issues. Also resurrection Remix gave me issues. Can anyone help me out :)

Try Phoenix AOSP Extended. I know you said that you already tried the official AOSP Extended, but really... Just try Phoenix. It's great! If you don't like that one, then try Legend ROM. Updates for that one aren't the fastest, but they don't need to be. It's already quite solid.

My vote is for FreedomOS v2.10 clean & fresh install with fresh install of all APPs, etc... Add during flashing a few basics like Face Detection for Media, Google Keyboard, Google Search, Google NFC Tags, AntHalService for fitness thingies, BT Midi Service just cause, OnePlus Camera cause it's awesome, then make sure to choose Google DNS, EnojiOne, Google Assistant & Substratum for K-Klock & Ozone... manually flash Pixel Dialer / Contacts and delete the stock ones in recovery... Don't use Root / Magisk during Flashing and don't use A.R.I.S.E either, too much of a hassle and not worth the results in my opinion. Manually flash Magisk 13 and choose Magisk Hide after boot... This'll pass SafetyNet and let you install Netflix, use Android Pay, etc... Don't use any Magisk Modules for now until things get sorted out. Right now using the modules causes a trip to SafetyNet. You can also flash Blu_Spark Kernel for some added awesomeness.

This has by far been the absolute BEST Nougat experience for me with none of the issues of using a non-OOS based ROM and I'm getting VERY solid battery life and unbelievably smooth performance with no changes to the Kernel settings and a boatload of APPs installed.

That sounds really interesting, I've actually registered here because I have the same exact question as the OP. I've tried LineageOS, Paranoid Android (AOSPA), and was thinking about trying Resurrection Remix but they either report bugs or don't really have any interesting features. Personally I'm all about customization. (So pretty much same as OP.)

Currently I'm using stock OxygenOS (with some root apps to make it better... MiXplorer, AFWall+, All in One Gestures, Greenify, Magisk, BusyBox, and was planning on trying to install Substratum) on OP3T but can't seem to get Magisk to pass SafetyNet...

I've been running Resurrection Remix for quite a while now and have to say that it's just awesome. Tons of customization options, super fast and stable. Full OMS support so that you can theme everything with substratum. Running it in combination with EX Kernel and AKT profile and got superb battery backup. Yesterday for example I had 7 hrs SOT with still 23% left. WiFi only, no gaming but everyday usage.

Just give it a try!

Resurrection Remix is definitely one of, if not THE, most customizable ROMs out there and if I were to choose a ROM that wasn't OOS based RR would definitely be it. It's always been stable for me. I only use an OOS based ROM to prevent any compatibility issues / bugs that the custom AOSP/LOS ROMs normally run into on any device. Usually it's minor, but I've had major heating issues on a few releases over the past few years that have caused screen burn issues so I've been a bit scared to go back to non-stock based ROMs on my devices.

IMO, hands-down best ROM/kernel is Vertex. about as fast as OOS, without the issues of OOS and performs much better than anything based on LOS

yes, it is lacking in features when compared to most other ROMs, but makes up for it with speed, stability and battery life. quality over quantity. works better than OOS in a lot of ways.
I haven't run into any issues with OOS at all. Can you provide a few examples where it's having issues and where Vertex would be a better fit for us to look for that quality over quantity setup? I wouldn't mind giving Vertex a try if it's better than OOS. I just don't know where OOS has any issues yet.

battery life is the best example. OOS wasn't a great experience for me when it came to battery. vertex is the most stable experience i've had with battery life on this device. also, my pebble 2 voice command for whatever reason doesn't work with OOS. sometimes apps i want on play store aren't 'compatible'.

Can't seem to bypass safetynet, so I'm going back to DirtyUnicorns.

What about Camera drivers, use OOS because of that. And is ruining great for me, never get a phone that the battery last that much. Just love the phone and the freedom os.
