Changed from RR to freedomOS running latest open Beta 9. Not the tons of customization options compared to RR but as smooth and fast and debloated as it could be. Love it so far. Superb battery backup by the way. Running it with the EX kernel and balanced akt profile.

Not that I wasn't pleased with RR. Just wanted to try sth new.
Do you have substratum support on beta? That is effectively the only reason I made a switch to Paranoid Android. The camera on the OOS is also pretty good.

Substratum is not supported officially. Some themes work, some don't but you risk a boot loop.

I'm using Ozone for substratum and it works perfectly fine.

I still can't find a rom I'm happy with that has decent customization good battery life and one thats stable :/
I'm waiting on Resurrection Remix to fix things, currently I'm running OxygenOS with Root and Greenify and it seems to be pretty good.
For battery life Oxygen has a decent battery life if you don't use any widgets for some reason Oxygen dies if there are any widgets running.

I see, but I like customization as well lol. Viper seems to be the best so far but Viper4android doesnt work for it. and theres only a little customization.

I've been running Resurrection Remix for quite a while now and have to say that it's just awesome. Tons of customization options, super fast and stable. Full OMS support so that you can theme everything with substratum. Running it in combination with EX Kernel and AKT profile and got superb battery backup. Yesterday for example I had 7 hrs SOT with still 23% left. WiFi only, no gaming but everyday usage.

Just give it a try!
What version and profile of AKT are you using ? Just flashed EX kernel

Puh it's been a while that I was using RR. Was using FreedomOS and now Phoenix but I used the AKT App and I think hawkpepper balanced profile back then.
Really ? Do you prefer it over RR ? was on the fence about flashing a new ROM (leaning towards Sultan's LOS) but sticked with RR for now as I won't be home till Monday.

Also, would love to know your setup right now (ROM, kernel and profile, hibernation apps and such, magisk modules)

I changed to freedomOS which is OOS with some tweaks basically because it runs much smoother than RR in my opinion. I was happy with RR but just wanted to try something new.

But then again OOS has not many customizations. I was happy with it as well but what made me try Phoenix ROM was actually this thread: https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...x-rom-v4-1-pocketjudge-oms-dui-op3-3t.532319/

Sounded good to me, flashed it and like it so far. Using stock kernel, greenify and magisk without any modules ... For now :)

I like to try new ROMs. With nandroid backup and titanium backup nothing can go wrong really. Restore is easy after the initial setup of the new rom. I flashed this rom at the beach actually ? That used to be my only concern when flashing. That I have to start from the beginning setting up everything but it's not like that.

Hope I could help.

Actually, I'm really interested in the process of post-flashing, what do you use to restore apps and data etc. So far I only used Google's restore apps option in the initial setup, and most of the data was already there since the /data wipe in TWRP does not wipe the sdcard AFAIK.

Never needed to use Titanium backup, Google play would automatically reinstall everything and WhatsApp has either a local backup or a Google Drive backup (not sure how exactly this works )

But now you've got my attention, I'm really curious because , as you said, that's the only thing holding me back from flashing new ROMs. This, and being away from home for a week..

I use titanium backup for restoring everything. Google does download the apps and some of the Google apps settings but any other app won't be restored with the settings etc. Titanium can backup all apps and it's data. So you won't have to set up every app. Every setting will be restored. Another thing is that you won't have to download every app because titanium does backup and restore it from the local storage if you want.

I'm not using Google backup any more at all. You can tell titanium to backup everything once a week for example and upload it to Google drive or Dropbox afterwards automatically. Pretty convenient in my opinion. Using the pro version of course.

Hi All. After been through all the posts, am confused. I am looking for an ROM which of course has to have best camera, best battery, best performance, tons of customization, substratum support. Currently I am using OOS OB 13. Only thing I feel is missing in OOS is substratum support and level of customization support which other ROMs provides. I will prefer OOS based ROM having these things. Please guide me in this decision. Can we have a poll in this thread, if we can? :)
