I know I can narrow down what I need with a few simple questions and statements, or at least I'll have a good start.
It's overwhelming due to all the different things that ppl say and do to their phones.: ROMs, Lineages, apps, launchers, etc I am utterly lost.
I have a Verizon Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900v 4.4.2 build nc4.
When the phone starts up we see the Verizon logo and an unlocked lock that says Custom underneath. I can choose Continue or Recovery.
* Continue runs the stock phone.
* Recovery runs a safestrap 3.72 (twrp v2.7.0.0) with 8 option buttons below
Knowing that...
Is running a higher ROM than one that's OS 4.4.2-based done reliably?
How high an OS could we go.?
What the highest OS version this phone will run w/o bogging down?
With the "bootstrap" (is that the recovery screen I can choose on start-up?) I have, am I limited to some certain kind of ROM?
* What I'd like is better Siri-style voice control, WAY better camera software (pixel?), podcast and a/v software, smart & smart-looking lock screen, etc on the highest ROMs that will run very, very reliably. *
I guess the best replies below will be educational for me, or just links to your favorite ROMs!
