I am using latest test Dirty unicorn ROM, Its Android 5.1.1 and suitable for Daily use. You guys might have to flash two files for fixing the FM auto tuner issue and Increasing the speaker volume once flashed the ROM. Check the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/orig-development/rom-dirty-unicorns-v9-7-t3209938 and read all the comments. you will figure it out the fixes one by one. Use the test version instead of stable one as it has SOD bug sometime. Also turn off ambient display under the display settings if you facing SOD in test version.

The only bug I have noticed which is when the caller put speaker during the call, the other party can't listen it. However the call will be working fine normal with earphones and both party can listen. I am using that ROM more than a week and it's pretty much stable. Battery also good , you guys might have to calibrate the battery if there is any sudden drop in battery level after the flash. search for a battery caliberator app and its done. Thanks to Banks for the ROM development :) :) ....Cheers

as of now..... what's suitable for daily use? ive been following the rom thread for so long and there's always some 'serious' issue mentioned.

not looking for super many features but a few useful general/popular features and stable.

Bean Stalk is the most stable one i believe. I've been using it for 2 weeks and haven't run into major bugs since then

I'm using Ivan MM ROM, it's pretty stable no bugs, but sometimes the device got hot,
I think we will get better ROMs in the future because Xiaomi relased the kernel source 2 days ago for cancro.
Nope. Cancro kernel source was released months back. It's Redmi 2 (if I remember correct) whose sources got released.
I'll suggest try CAF ROM. It heats least than any other ROM for me. (use at like 1.5 GHz, it's smoother than any other ROM)

One thing I noticed is that if your coming from ivans rom or resu remix rom, you will feel how sluggish mi3 becomes using miui.

My personal preference is AOKP MM. No bugs, smooth, battery life is the best comparing other MM roms and Ive tried almost all of them. Perfectly usable as a daily driver.

Months have passed and i left MIUI behind and went to Cyanogen. CM 12.1 is super stable, and with xcelerate kernel is an awesome performer. Now i'm on CM 13 with Fallen Shadow C2 kernel, no bugs, no SOD's, no random crashes. Battery life is much better than 12.1, gaming performance is improving everyday but still not on par with previous versions, but the OC on the GPU helps a lot.
For me, this is the one to go for :)
