The keyboard I'm using is a white Perixx Periboard. It works great and has a nice feel to it. Has a nice long cord, too. Here's the link: Perixx Mini USB Keyboard White

Yes, I have superuser. It came with this rom.You do have superuser installed?
You don't get any <write error> from UsbMode?
Download and run root checker from the market, if you do have full access re-install the usb app and make sure that you give it permission under su.Yes, I have superuser. It came with this rom.
I do get that <write error>. When I tap any mode or amperage buttons, I get that error.
Oh. Right.Installing su alone doesn't give you root, that's why I suggest that he checked to make sure that he is in fact rooted.

I checked, I have root. Still, I re-installed super-su and the USB Mode Utility. All the other apps which require su have an entry on super-su. USB Mode Utility never asks me to grant it su access. Hence, the <write error>. I have tried uninstalling it and install it from the /System/App folder, because I dunno, I'm a noob and thought it might help. No such luck. From what I read, the app has to ask the system for su when it runs an su process. I can't force it to have su if it doesn't ask for it.Download and run root checker from the market, if you do have full access re-install the usb app and make sure that you give it permission under su.
By any chance have you tried uninstalling SU, rebooting, reinstalling it, installing UsbMode.apk, and THEN launching it and attempting to use UsbMode?I checked, I have root. Also, I have fresh-installed the previously mentioned rom a couple of times to get this app to work. It's a clean system as we speak.
Thanks for all your input.
