THX Dinesh!
Sfos is up and running. =)
But i had few times the problem that i cannot answer an incoming call because the touchscreen does not respond. Is that a known issue?
Are there any logs to search for that?

Hi,

This issue is likely fixed in the upcoming 2.1.0, as part of this: https://trello.com/c/iRXkWPKG/50-touchscreen-disallow-mce-to-grab-touchscreen-as-we-use-protocol-b
https://github.com/CancroSailors/droid-config-cancro/commit/3ada749c98e98edcbb1f8e9ddfdb29fd9ce277b5 This is the fix. You can locally add this file, to "/etc/mce/60-input-policy-cancro.conf" and reboot the device, and that should fix the issue.

Cheers,
D

Hi,

Yes. I have compiled a 2.1 version and have been testing it privately for a while now. I hope to release it soon - once I add the changes needed by Anbox ( https://twitter.com/krnlyng/status/858992240408109057 ) to it. Anbox is basically the future of SFDroid. https://anbox.io/ gives you a better idea of what it is.
In case, I run into any unseen complications, I will release 2.1 without Anbox in 10-15 days and push out an OTA with the needed changes for Anbox.

Cheers!

That part is taken care of by the android runtime, so just like any normal android phones. Right now it doesn't handle phone calls. And storage is isolated from the rest of the sailfish storage. Kind of like running android in virtual box/android emulator. Will probably later on add better integration with sailfish os on sharing some data like photos etc.. Priority now is to get the basic thing running, and packaged so people can install it from openrepos..

Thanks, looking forward!

Thanks saidinesh5 for the sailfish 2.0.5.6 cancro build, this is not alpha quality but better! I'm truly impressed by camera, gps, vibration, led notification, double-tap to wake, flip to silent all working on this amazing hardware.
I am looking forward to your next release (with or without Android support).

Thanks!

P.S. I have a Mi4 4g/2gb. If you need any help with testing/patching let me know and I'll start to look at the repos you have

Just bought a Mi4 and installed SailfishOS, my J1 is slowly dying. Great work. is not alpha quality at all. Just a few things to note:
- cannot see word suggestions, is it a bug or a Jolla closed source part?
- missing Exchange account, but again I think is a closed/paid feature. IMAP is fine though.
- FM radio is supported, I see, but no app available.
I will look forward for 2.1 version, either with or without Android support.
Thank you for your great work.
BTW I also bought a LeMax2, I'd like to port sfos there, but still no luck though.

Hi, Sorry for the delayed reply.
Word suggestions are currently closed source. There is however OkBoard app in Openrepos, which kind of works fairly decently - at least for swiped words. Do check it out.
FM Radio is available in the default Media Player app itself.
2.1 is out now.

Hi all,

Yep. the 2.1 version is finally released. This is mostly an update to Sailfish 2.1. It still has a few bootloops on Mi3. Hence I'm retaining the alpha tag for this version.
Anbox support will still take some time. Hence releasing this update without it. Once done, It will be available as an OTA soon.

Not exactly sure what the issue is - if it is the 3.4 kernel or something else. Has anyone tried out 3.10 kernel for cancro (even on CyanogenMod etc..)? Any idea on how stable it is? The only device Anbox currently seems to be working has a 3.10 kernel, so I am beginning to think it may have to do something with our 3.4 kernel.

If anyone reading this wants to help out with the development, we need someone to add support for the IR blaster on the Mi4. It would need some basic C++/Qt knowledge, and lots of patience to develop. I am on an Mi3 which doesn't have the IR blaster. So I cannot push it forward. If anyone is willing, contact me. I can share info on how to proceed.
Other than that, we really can use more people packaging more software for Sailfish. Packaging QtWebEngine - so we can have a better webview/browser, QtVirtualKeyboard - so we can replace the Sailfish keyboard with it.

Cheers,
D
