[BL LOCKED][ROOT]TWRP Touch Recovery for BL locked M4 Aqua

Overview
This is TWRP install tool for bootloader 'locked' M4 Aqua.
It's checked operation at E2363 26.1.B.1.85, 26.1.B.2.147, and 26.1.B.3.109

Requirements

• Windows as host machine
• ADB environment(can run adb shell)
• Rooted M4 Aqua device(not need BL unlock)
• Unzip tool

Works

• Touch operation
• Mount some partition(system, data, cache, external SD, etc...)
• Backup and restore
• Install zip
• ADB access
• MTP transfer
• Various settings

Not works

• Reboot to Recovery
• /firmware mount(shown error, but no actual harm)

How to install

1. Unzip M4Aqua-lockedTWRP-xxx-installer.zip
2. Run install.bat

How to boot TWRP

1. Power on
2. When LED light cyan, click volume-down button
3. LED change magenta, and then TWRP start

• This is FW update tool keeping rooted(for example, from 26.1.B.1.85 to 26.1.B.2.147, from 26.1.A.1.112 to 26.1.A.2.167)
• Works on TWRP
• First, prepare target ftf(lollipop)
• Extract kernel.sin and system.sin from ftf
• Convert kernel and system by using Flashtool, and get kernel.elf and system.ext4
• Add kerel.elf and system.ext4 to twrp_prerooted_M4.zip
• Install zip on TWRP

TWRP for unlocked bootloader work nice, also external sd card

You can update from 26.1.A.1.112 to 26.1.A.2.167 by using twrp_prerooted_M4.zip.

1. At First, flash 26.1.A.1.112 FW by using Flashtool.
2. Get root by using rootkitXperia_E23xx.
3. Install TWRP.
4. Install twrp_prerooted_M4.zip include kernel.elf/system.ext4 of 26.1.A.2.167 on TWRP.

So, it's better wait to 6.0 update come or can i will remove TWRP?
I want to use TWRP for pre-root .147 (E2363), but i am worried if TWRP will mess up in the future when i flash 6.0 via Flashtool.

Don't worry.
To flashing system by using Flashtool, All custom is deleted.

Did you make prerooted-zip correctly?

1. Download twrp_prerooted_M4.zip and keep.
2. Use latest version of Flashtool(0.9.19.10)
3. (On Flashtool)Tools->Sin Editor, Select kernel.sin, push 'Extract data', and then kernel.elf is made.
4. Similarly, select system.sin, push 'Extract data', and then system.ext4 is made.
5. Using like 7-zip tool, Add kernel.elf and system.ext4 to twrp_prerooted_M4.zip.
6. Install twrp_prerooted_M4.zip via TWRP.

Same problem as you, using winrar for to do the zip. Flash ftf and root again, but the second time, after error I flashed supersu.zip and now Ok.

I just read is better using 7zip...

Tested 'rootkitXperia_E23xx' but no success on E2312 / .147. Reflashed to .85 and working fine..BTW,hit thanks for the good job and will waiting for good news for this variant from you :highfive: .

Is it necessary to do a full wipe, downgrade from the latest FW release to root, or is there a way of doing it without losing all apps and and data?

Yes, im also tyring to figue this out, I was reading flashtool can extract system.sin to yaffs and you can do it, but I get a raw file. Think it work like that on kitkat but not lollipop
