No use man they are answering windows installer kind of questions only on both threads.
Magisk works only for root according to the developer, modules and magiskHide do not work because they are not for x86. Do not allow it to do additional installation. No use man they are answering windows installer kind of questions only on both threads.
Just back up your drives and give it a spin.
All together it is a nice os with a smooth user experience, and nice battery times if it manages to run.
Regarding drivers, etc you might wanna prepare for partial "support" only even here.
Brace yourself, you will have a nightmare if you are trying to use magisk if it is included alongside with gearlock. Magisk cannot set itself up properly on the OS. It always prompts to have additional installation done but after the reboot nothing changes. Cause it b*tches about being a system app.
Thus you cannot issue SU if you are running the OS so gearlock does not manage to load at all.
You can access it only while in recovery mode, where you have no network ofc if the device is wifi only.
Never tried this method i just cut magisk out as is, but this might be interesting to solve the problem.
team bliss is pleased to present to you bliss rom based on Android 9 Pie Our focus is to bring the Open Source community a quality OS that can run on all your devices as a daily driver, syncing your apps + settings + customizations across all...forum.xda-developers.com
use a plain gapps based distro,
install gearlock manually,
then use it to customize the system to your liking.
No magisk still so no netflix, or finance apps, and ofc forget about encrypting the device...
useless it just reboots as it has no recovery to start the encryption process.
Suggesting to have the option removed as is from the distros from the menus.
In my case i would have needed help to reassign a hardware address for the camera.
The forum/official documentation based methods are failing with BLISS,
and my I2C drivers are failing due to wrong memory address allocation.
Thus no camera, no mic, no rotation toggle button, no wwan capabilities, no NFC.
What works is that are included in all oses:
volume, power, menu keys, giro, touch input, sound output, wifi, in some rare cases even BT can register
(2 OS es from all of the distros located in the official repo from all flavors, including all the way down to yantra editions)
BTW is there anyone here who can confirm that this os or any flavor of it which is in the repo can handle mobile data, so WWAN?
I am running this on a HP elitepad 1K G2 btw, which has no support on any level here, trying to pioneer...
I think the aim here is not to wide spread the distro, but to aid those questions that seem to keep the thread going. Deep level support man, forget about it. Like most of us, you are on your own. Welcome to the club.
The product is nice, the "support" is...
Now you can add Bliss OS to Ubuntu grubI can run live by choosing Vulkan & old modprobe option. Touch screen works fine, the Google integration is good too. Google Books work as expected. Because my pad is about 11in, I tried desktop mode, and it works fine.
Then, I reboot to choose install option, but... The interface seems have no touch support, and the keyboard I'm using doesn't work too, stopping at the "choose partition" interface.
So the keyboard seems not detected after the GRUB menu selection.
Keyboard problem solved, and install finished, but the bootloader is not detected by BIOS. I chose whole disk install, but now the BIOS detects no UEFI boot device.
I surrendered, and installed Ubuntu instead. I used the version respun by Linuxium. Surprised that Ubuntu is quite nice for touch now.
Im using this https://docs.blissos.org/install-bliss-os/manual-install-on-linux
