Bluetooth audio quality

Hey all, have the razer 2 and have noticed the bluetooth audio quality is garbage. Ive tried different cars, different headphone etc and they all sound worse than AM radio. I though android oreo had support for AptX -HD, LDAC etc,,,,,but it seems its not active on the razer 2 ven if you open developer options...any recs???? I know i can use the dongle but that defeats the purpose of wireless headphones

I generally don't use bluetooth, as bluetooth compresses audio, giving you less quality. I had zero issues using the dongle with some decent Sennheiser earbuds, they sounded really good, but I haven't used my headphones yet. My wife has some cheap-ish (around $30) Anker brand bluetooth earbuds, and I tried them on the Razer 2 - they sounded as good as they do on other devices, I didn't notice anything distorted or out of place. You may try checking your Atmos settings, or even turn it off when using bluetooth and see if that helps.

Thx for the info I agree,I dont use Bluetooth except in the car for streaming as I'm not a big fan of Android auto, and you are right as it is compressed . But my phones sound quality over Bluetooth is very muffled and obvious. I've tinkered with the Atmos effects and it had no effect....wondering if I got a bad unit. The fact that your wife's earbuds sound the same as other phones leads me to think I gotta bad unit because it's virtually unlistenable through Bluetooth"(

It's gotta be your phone. My hammerhead Bluetooth sounded great with my Razer phone 1. But they sound amazing with my Razer phone 2. And range is greatly improved.

The Razer Phone 2 will use AAC, which is not too bad at all. I wish I could get it working with LDAC, though, for better sound with my Sony NW-ZX300 or my Audeze Mobius.

That is totally inaccurate. the RP2 doesn't have aptx or aptx-HD support, even if you go into developer settings and try to force it to use aptx. I currently haven't been able to get aptx working properly, even with magisk modules.

That's correct. It's been disabled by Razer, and turning it on in Dev options does not work. You have to use the LDAC magisk module to get it to work...

As it happens, I have a HiBy WT so I can use UAT so I have a solution. Not everyone has this device tho.
