I'm trying to sync my OnePlus One with my KGL2 unit (MK3188 1024x600 variant).

It connects easily, but when I'm trying to sync my phone contacts with the system, I am just getting an endless moving circle, and nothing ever syncs.

Also, incoming phone calls are not identified by contact details.

Be glad for any advise hot to resolve that issue.

Wish i knew the answer to this. My unit is now showing all of my Google account contacts, not my phone contacts.

Overall the phone and Bluetooth features of these units are terrible.

Firstly, you can check if your phone is connected with your unit successfully.

If connected well, you can download your phone contacts to the unit. (I have tried several phones on my Pumpkin head unit and all successfully)

If failed, you can try another phone to see if this function can work normally.

The phone is connected successfully with the unit - I am able to make calls via BT.

Check it with another phone = same results.

The Google contacts (which are actually equal to the phone contacts) ares synced with the unit.

Still, not able to sync contacts between the phone and the unit, and whats worse, no caller ID on the unit, only the caller number.
How can I download my phone contacts to the unit?

Perhaps the Bluetooth module of your phone is not compatible with this unit. Or you can ask for helps from the seller. :)

I am working with the OnePlus One, and also with Samsung Galaxy S5, both weren't able to sync.
Maybe something is wrong with the BT unit itself.

The seller is sending me a replacement BT unit, but I am not sure how am I gonna replace it myself, since I have no electrical engineering background.

I was hoping for a software based solution.

Did you search for an answer? It's been up here several times. Go to Xposed installer/modules/remove the thick from XposedMtcBT and reset.
Now your phones will sync.

Of course I made a search before posting.
The thing is that Xposed was not even activated on my device, so naturally nothing to thick/unthick.
Even tried to activate Xposed and so.. still can't sync.

I had the same problem. And maybe it is too obvious. settings --> bluetooth --> settings icon CAR KIT --> check contact sharing. On my Nexus 5 it was unchecked by default.
