Bluetooth Dial-up Networking WP7

One feature missing from Mango is Bluetooth Dial-up Networking.

A lot of standard Nokia phones support it as well as most Blackberry and Sony Ericsson.

Admittedly, IOS and Android don't support it.

If an app or feature could be written it would be an extremely useful tool.

I would use it for connecting to Comand Online in my car and I'm sure loads of people would use it.

I can't see it being an official app on the app store but would be a great unofficial app.

Agreed. An app like PDAnet on android allows for BTDUN.

*bump* also, a tethering application similar to MiWi in IOS that allows you to tether your phone (to share your existing data bundle) but without incurring additional charges from your network provider.

I'd love to code this but wouldn't have a clue where to start!

Check out this thread if you want to get Internet Sharing or Wifi Hotspot enabled for your phone.

Bluetooth will only happen if Microsoft releases an update for it. Currently no phone had the necessary bluetooth driver.

I too would love BT DUN, with my symbians and WMs I always got the impression that it chewed the battery less than Wifi ICS.

And a blue tooth profile for separate keyboards too please - that's something I'm really missing.
