i would have got the Motorola s10 hd mainly for the water resistances but i didnt have that much money at the time. but i enjoy my s305 so pleasantly surprised by them.
My fav part about them is the ability to lay down and there not in the way.
so if your working out and doing bench press or something like that there great very little in the back behind your head. they are a little annoying with my glasses but the s10 i think would be worst but haven't tried the s10 on so no idea.

Aliph (Jawbone) and Plantronics seem to get the best reviews and ratings year after year. There are 3 generations of jawbone out there now and supposedly the newer ones are better at keeping out background noise, and have some extra frills like working for bt music streaming as well as calls, but audio quality on all of them will be similar indoors.

I went with a Plantronics 975, which gets similar ratings, in large part because it comes with a small case that also has a battery in it. The earpiece can be recharged about 3x using just the case, no other charger needed. And without a case of some kind, whatever earpiece I use gets stuck in my pocket or pack and then the rubber cushion gets lost or the earpiece gets lost, so anything with a 'carrier' or case works better for me.

Recharges with a standard micro-USB plug, which beats all hell out of needing a special charging tip like many others require!

Sound quality is good, but apparently ALL BT EARBUDS are low volume compared to music earbuds. Which is funny, because there's a class action suit out there claiming they are too loud and have caused hearing damage. Too loud?? Never met one that was as loud as any wired earpiece. Never, not a one. And I'm not deaf. Yet.

One drawback to the Plantronics 975, it won't stream bt music either. PITA.

Not to steal the thread, but does anyone have a recommendation for bluetooth headphones (not headset)?
Sony Ericsson Bluetooth MW600 ($50 on Amazon USA)
Pros: Great sound quality, comes with a decent headphone but you can use whatever headphone you have (which is why I got it).
Cons: Volume control is weird and hard to use.

I concur with all of this, just got one on Monday. Also, haven't yet figured out how to use with my win7 laptop that has a usb bluetooth dongle. Neither Sony nor Microsoft released a driver that works with this headset.

Go to your bluetooth devices list, right click MW600, Properties - Services, uncheck SEMC HLA, which is the actual failing thing that stupid Sony did not bother to create a driver for. After that it should work fine with your PC.

Only thing is, at least on my laptop, PC connection does not go into the idle state, so it keeps the BT connection busy all the time, and you cannot answer your phone if you are connected to both of them at the same time.

I appreciate your input, however I can only complete this step if my laptop even recognizes that the device exists.

Does it even try to install some drivers for it? If yes, after it installs some and fails at the end, go to Control Panel - Devices & Printers, and do the things I said on my last post in there.

Nah, man. It's just complete fail, it sits at 'searching for new devices' and doesn't so squat. I power the headset on, off, scan for pairing devices, repeat, I have re-installed the drivers for the usb bluetooth dongle, the latest from the website, the ones on the disk, I've tried ones recommended from reading various forums about it. I even installed Blusoid or whatever it's called, overwriting the default drivers. IIRC, it saw the device, but wouldn't connect, I can try your method with that. That's the closest to working that I have gotten.
