Bluetooth signal worsened after Android 12 update

I usually always laughed at my friend, because his iPhone 12 would make the music go choppy on the Bluetooth speakers whenever he went to the bathroom at the office only just next door, while my awesome OnePlus could play even if I was in another room in another floor, it didn't even matter how far away i was, the signal still went through and amazed us all.
But gosh darn it, after the android 12 update.. even if my phone is just in my pocket - if i point it away from the speakers, the music gets Choppy.. it's an obvious massive downgrade from the signal strength i had before and I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this since updading?

Did you do a factory reset? This maybe needed.
Did you at least do a network reset?
Many Samsung users rolled back to 11 from 12 so it's not just OP devices.

Personally I refuse to go beyond Android 10 with 9 being my preferred OS. This has more to do with resource sucking scoped storage though. Anything from 9 up is relatively secure. 12 especially is too secure

I mean if it fixes it I guess I'll have to do it, but I'd hoped it was as a last resort. I haven't tried a network reset, I don't think I've ever even done that before, so I'll just look into how that's done first and try that out

A network reset sadly didn't work, on the bright side my speakers finally plays Christmas music the way its intended - not playing

One reason I don't upgrade especially if the current platform is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission. Little to gain and a lot to lose.

A network reset is pretty painless just need to reinitalize the bt devices and wifi ones if you use them. I'll use it from time to time if having connection issues.

If you can clear the system cache on that device do so. That can fix a lot of bizarre behavior issues especially if you made major software or firmware changes. Many times a factory reset is the best option if you did a major OTA firmware upgrade. Last thing you want is a boot loop; take any sign of system instability seriously. Make sure all critical data is fully and redundantly backed up as it should always be.

Play with it. A rollback to 11 may be possible as well; not sure about that variant.

This has nothing to do with old files requiring a factory reset. Something has definitely changed in the firmware for OxygenOS 12. I now can't be more than 4 meters apart from my device without the audio getting choppy - it's crazy.

Of course I did. This has _nothing_ to do with storage or stale data. It's something they changed in the firmware when moving from Android 11 to 12.

Well a rollback is your only option then or wait until it's patched unless you can track it down. A lot of Samsung users rolled back from 12 to 11 because of issues.
This an example of one of reasons why I never update firmware that's fast, stable and fulfilling its mission. Zero trust in Gookill. They can and have screwed up good products in the past; it's their nature.

ARGH I've been using pixelexperience for months now since I posted this thread, but there were just so many small annoyances so I decided to come back to stock. I had briefly forgotten about all these friggen BT issues so I just installed the newest version again. ARGH XD

Yeah the BT thing is just really annoying.

None of the known solutions work. The only thing I could do now was go back to Android 11.

Back the Android 11 and bluetooth Range and charging speed ist fine again. Maybe a custom Rom like Lineage 20 or pixel experinece 13 works but in dont want to try, because the installation and the subsequent change back to stock is very time-consuming.

Did somebody test the Android 13 custom roms in view of the two problems??

I tried Pixel Experience 12 & 13 on my Nord.
It feels alright most of the time but there's the occasional annoyances. For instance :
- When rebooting my Nord, the system will ignore the current alert slider position (e.g. I'll shutdown my phone on "silent", move the slider to "ring" when the phone is off, and the phone will stay in "silent" when booting up while the slider is in the "ring" position.

- There's no clear visual feedback as to what mode you're in when moving the alert slider (e.g. the little bubble appearing momentarily on the right side of the screen)

- The camera feels janky for some reason. I did not research this area further unfortunately.

- Sometimes, my Nord will not be able to transfer files to my computer, unless I enable "USB Debugging", which is awful.

I did not notice any unusual behavior regarding charging, but those issues are what you get when only one or two people are working on supporting your device rather than its manufacturer.

I feel like it's a mix between OOS 11 and 12. It's not as bad; but still not great. I don't have any detailed test results, sorry.
Though keep in mind that I'm talking from memory as I had rolled back to OOS 11.

OK, np... I'll stay at Android 11. I dont understand why oneplus dont fixed that Problem. In the oneplus Community Forum many Users Report that Problem..

It feels Like "you are unhappy with your Phone, buy a new one"....

Next Phone no more oneplus.
