Boost Headphone/Headset Volume?

Just wondering if anybody has managed to find a way to boost the headphone volume via usb c?
Previously I would just go into system/vendor/etc/mixer_gains.xml however it seems with our device we don't have this XML file.

The output volume is a bit too low for me, so I was hoping I'd be able to boost it as I have on all my devices in the past.

You can change gain with a custom kernel, no? Right?

Hmm I've only seen an option to adjust speaker and mic gain. Nothing for headphones / headset
