Thank you for starting this thread.

I'm currently using ICS on my evo ( and I'm also new to the community).

I've not been able to use the "NEW CM9 Papa Smurf151 Style V2.0" you seem to recommend. After flashing the rom, it seems to lock at the boot screen.

Anyway, I highly recommend the Strike! rom for ICS.

Everything I need works, and it's really really fast. Battery life and stability is awesome with this rom, so I'm using it as my daily driver. I can't wait for Savoca to update the rom.


Which rom would you recommend for Jelly Bean? Have you tried MazWoz's JB rom? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947452

I'm still working out the mms issues (can't send files) i'm having with Strike's rom to try a MazWoz. Also, another issue with Strike!'s rom is that I don't have Wifi Direct.

He seems to have worked out the major issues.

Its against XDA rules to recommend a specific rom. But what i can tell you is the roms listed in my OP are fully tested and listed with detailed instructions. Look under the JB roms section and also the JB roms other section.

I can't praise Savoca enough for his ICS Strike! rom.

I'm using zRam compression and it works! The CPU governators will spoil you.

My only problem with Boost Mobile compatibility is the mms application: no file attachments.

The only solution I have found: use Go SMS Pro... which sucks because it uses far too much memory.

I wish there was a fix .

Also recording video is buggy . Is there any way to record at a smaller resolution?

hey shaggs...is there any way to access the APN settings menu without using the voice dialer?? I believe my mic is gone, so I cant do voice dialing..

I wish it worked with the bluetooth, but it doesnt. any thought??

the zip i made works mostly..lol sometimes I have to just check the radio button but it at least changes on its own without me doing anything. My biggest issue now is i dont know how to access it without using my mic:silly:

You will have to download an apn manager to get to the apn settings.

Im using aokp on the epic 4g touch, i use these settings but cant send mms, i can recieve fine. Gosms works though

Some aokp roms will not work. If the Rom is not in the list it is untested.

any idea what stops them from working? I've tried a LOT of settings. There has to be a difference from Gosms settings and aokp settings that makes it stop working..

Not sure. Some are broken even for sprint users. I will PM you a link that has working MMS on this type of rom. Either use that rom or ask them the same question.....

There seems to be an issue with the mms.apk, FC's when trying to send.

You RULE ShagNasty2, I lost the mms after flashing Cyanogen & few other ROMs and forgot the reset instructions to access apn, thank you so much for posting, the 000000 worked perfect for MSL password and the Sense settings worked for me on this AlterROM Redux v1.0.0.

Shag add my Rom its boost mms friendly. Also have a phone apk mod for native voicemail. It's not baked into my Rom but can be pushed if need be.

Mms receive no send

Shag, first off, thanks for taking the time to help all of us out. Great work man.

Just tossing a question out there. I'm running an ICS ROM (strike) and I've changed all of my apn settings and rebooted but I still can't send mms. I can receive though.

The tutorial says you don't have to copy the inverted mms with strike but I tried it anyways to see if that would work. No dice. It removes messaging from the app list causing you to have to reinstall it.

If anyone else has ran into this issue please let me know. In advance I appreciate the help.
